Ahadi looked up at the stars after Uru pointed them out. "Well, I was always taught that the stars were, well... stars." he said uncomfortably. "But then, where I came from, you didn't have time usually to look up. You always looked around for the next hunt". He looked at the twinkling lights above, no different then they were before, and yet now, more majestic. "What is the story of the Great Kings of the Past?"

Ahadi looked at Uru, and saw her look up at the stars dreamily and in wonder. This made Ahadi look up as well.

Uru motioned for Ahadi to lay on his back in the cool grass with her, once he was beside her she pointed with her fore paw. "You see thsoe stars, they are all Great Kings. Kings that ruled before us and have passed on." she whispered softly. Her honey eyes flickered in the moonlight and she looked to Ahadi, "Atleast thats what my father told me.." she said.

"They watch over us and help us make those difficult decisions. I see my father talking to my grandfather everytime the wind blows." she added. She took her paw and grabbed a piece of Ahadi's black mane, she smiled slightly and let it go.

Ahadi looked up at the stars again. "Really?" he asked. But something about it bothered him. "What about the other lions? The ones that are not kings?" he asked. Not wanting to worry Uru, he tried to reason with her. "There are so many stars... Can they all be kings? Or is it more?"

Ahadi had another question to ask Uru. "Did you ever see your grandfather? As in, here?"

[Songo]

Uru thought for a moment his question seemed to make sense, she looked at her paws. "Well I guess they're the smaller stars." she said softly. "I never really thought of it like that."

Uru's honey colored eyes closed for a moment and she sighed, "I've never met him, but I heard he was a great King." she sat up to look at Ahadi, "I would've liked to meet him." she said frowning.

Ahadi looked up at the stars again. "Sounded like a great lion." he said softly. "Back in my pride, we got along well enough, but there wasn't anyone I missed. We were all, we were average."

Ahadi let out a long yawn. "You better go back to your parents. They might be waiting for you." he told Uru. He still wasn't sure whether he would be allowed to back with her to the pride dens. "I can take you back to your den." he told her. "Then leave for the night."

Ahadi saw Uru's saddened expression. "Just for tonight." he told her.

[Songo]

Uru nodded and pulled herself uP to her paws, she stretched forward a little while Ahadi stood up. Her tail flickered by her side and she looked to PrideRock. "You can stay in our Pride dens." she said softly as they made their way back. She climbed up the rocky formation and stood infront of Ahadi. "Thanks for saving me. Well, maybe you'd make this place your new home." she added.

Her ears twitched as her father's loud snoring became audible, she surpressed a giggle with her paw. She stepped up to Ahadi and nuzzled his mane before stepping into the dark den, "Goodnight." she whispered and was gone.

Ahadi hesitantly followed Uru inside. He spotted Mohatu and Kamaria already asleep on an elevated platform in the center of the den. Feeling out of place, he quickly went over to Uru to tell her that he will leave for the night. When he was close to her, he whispered, "Listen, Uru, I appreciate the offer, but I can't stay here. Not during the night." Ahadi knew that Uru wanted him to stay in the den, but he was to afraid to do so. "Uru, please. I can't. I... I just can't. I'll find you tomorrow morning. But I just can't stay here for tonight."

Before Uru will convince him to change his mind, Ahadi bid a farewell and left the den as quickly as he dared. He didn't want to wake up either Mohatu nor Kamaria. When he was out of hearing distance, he broke off into a sprint, fleeing as fast as he can until he could find a smaller place to sleep in that didn't scare him even more.

Uru sighed as Ahadi disappeared, she knew her father made him uncomfortable. Closing her eyes and resting her head on her paws, she fell asleep.


------NEXT MORNING------

Kamaria was relaxing on her usual rock in the morning, her blue eyes watched Mohatu leave onhis patrol. She looked up to Zuzu, "Have you seen those pesky hyenas around?" she asked.

Uru padded out of the den and she looked around, she began to step past her mother.
"Uru..where are you going?" she asked.
"To the gorge maybe..."she lied looking over the ledge to try and spy Ahadi.

Zuzu flapped down and perched on a rock by Kamaria, "Be careful Princess, hyenas have been spotted in the lands." she warned.

Kamaria laughed, "Didn't you hear Zuzu, Ahadi will protect her." she said chuckling.

Uru's ears flattened back, "I can protect myself. But speaking of Ahadi have you seen him?" she asked.

"No dear, I haven't. Maybe he went home..?" Kamaria said softly closing her eyes once more.

Uru sighed and padded down the rocky path, as soon as she hit grass she began to run. Her honey colored eyes roamed the lands but she couldn't find him, a frown crossed her muzzle. She laid by the watering hole's edge and stared at it's ripples,*he's gone..* she thought to herself.

When Ahadi woke up, he saw that the sun was already up. Cursing, he quickly got up and left the small cave he found as a den to look for Uru. Seeing as the waterhole was closer, Ahadi ventured there fist. Mostly, he wanted to avoid having to go to the dens, if he could.

Running to the waterhole, he spotted Uru through the reeds. She was lying on the bank looking at her reflection. Ahadi frowned: Uru didn't look very happy. Big understatement Ahadi thought. Feeling wicked, Ahadi pulled back from the weeds and left the waterhole.

Only to turn back and sprint for it, aiming for the bank where Uru was at. Ahadi grinned madly when he saw that Uru didn't notice him fast approaching her, and charged even faster. At the last minute, he jumped up over her head and splashed madly into the water.

"I didn't know you missed me that much!" He called out to her when he surfaced and climbed back onto the riverbank. "Sorry for being late."

Mohatu thought about Ahadi. "Zuzu!" he called out for the majordomo. "I want you to follow Uru for today. And keep an eye on the rogue she's with. I want to know how trustable he is. Oh, and uh, stay out of sight, if you can."

[Songo]

Hearing a splash and feeling the cold water fly on her pelt she shivered. "What makes you think I missed you." she said smirked. Shaking her body she relieved it of any water and reclined back to her hinds. She watched Ahadi surface from the water his mane soaked and hanging, she laughed and pushed him back in.

Stepping back she waited for him to resurface, "That's for being so late." she smiled.

Zuzu nodded to Mohatu, "Yes your majesty." she called and flew over to the watering hole. She hid herself in tall a tall tree and watched.

Her honey colored eyes flickered in the sunlight and she stepped closer to the edge, she looked for Ahadi to resurface.
