Zira continued to attack the innocent cubs, she had a feeling one of them was ready to die. She wanted them both dead, but oen was good enough, she had to find out which one...

Kiara came to her senses... If her cubs were to die, she would want to die with them. She left towards the Outlands; even if she could not catch their scent, it was more likely they were in the Outlands.

Zira sniffed the the air. Her eyes wided. "Scar! Grab Niko and let's hide!" Scar heard Zira, he grabbed Niko by the scruff and ran into the cave. Zira grabbed the babies. She saw more mud, she covered them in mud, and then rolled around the in the mud in a hurry. Then, then went deeper into the cave.

The male cub was confused and didnt know whats really going on the many shaking and rolling was to much and he whimpered again

Kiara with her dried tears sticking to her fur, reached the desolate area of the Outlands and from a distance, could see a cave with a mud pit nearby. Kiara sniffed at the air and only caught the scent of an impala nearby. She sat there waiting if she should go on searching. She saw her brother and Kovu sniffing around by a dried up ditch and she walked over to them.

Meanwhile, Nala was in the den with Simba pacing around. Simba, Kiara and Kopa should have been back by now! You need to find them!

The cub stopped. It knew it was gonna die, so it gave up and waited for its end. There was nothing it could do.

Kovu saw Kiara. I can't find their scent... Zira should be hiding somewhere there, there's no explanation. Kovu couldn't believe that his own mother wanted to kill his cubs.

Kopa didn't notice Kiara, he kept sniffing. He smelled an Outsider, but it could be a rogue lioness. He followed the scent, hoping it was Zira.

Kovu what about that cave? Kiara remembered the cave she saw. Even if there was no trace of Zira they could look right? Kiara would sacrifice herself just to be with her cubs.

Kovu looked at the cave. It looked strangely familiar. I think we should go in, but there's something familiar about this cave... anyway let's go! Kovu started running straight to the cave.

Rentai had remained in the Pridelands. She was hoping for her cubs to return, but after a while, she gave up and started walking towards the Outlands. She thought her cubs were gone.

The male cub tried again to snuggle against Zira and tryed to purr.

Niko listened to his father and then nodded. He had heard that the pridelanders were only egoistic lions who cared for no one but themselves. And that eventually, everything would die in their command. "I will try Daddy..." Niko told Scar and used his small paws to start walking out. He wasn't fast at all, but he was still quite a troublemaker. As he walked out, he saw his mother and two tiny cubs. He had no idea what age they were, but he felt sorry for them. He wondered how his mommy could every act like that. It scared him. He started running and kept on going till he was at the edge of the Outlands.
