Vitani just listened normally, having already been told that they have to do this on their on. However she looked at the mandrill again when he finished, obviously confused. "What do you mean?"

Rafiki only looked at them. "Remember, rule with honor and you will be truly great," he said as he handed his staff to Hodari. Then, before everyone's eyes, he vanished in a cloud of wind-blown grass and flower petals. "He has gone to the realm of the great kings," he said.

Vitani just sat there in shock, unable to believe that Rafiki was gone. She knew that the mandrill was old, but she still never expected this to happen anytime soon, as Rafiki always appeared to be healthy and well fit. And beside that the way he died was really strange, since there was no trace of his body at all. She continued to sit there, unable to even stutter a single word.

Hodari stepped forward to to break the silence. "I have never seen anything like this. Rafiki told me that, from time to time, unusual things happen, but I never thought I would ever witness it," he said.

Vitani still had a hard time believing that Rafiki was gone. "He's gone?" she asked, the sight being so strange that she had a hard time believing it.

Hodari nodded. "Yes, your highness. As we speak, the actions he committed in life are being judged and then he will be admitted into the great kings' realm. Now, I will try to guide you and your mate as best I can," he said.

Vitani let out a sigh. This made no sense at all. She looked at Hodari and said, "Well... Maybe you have some advice for us then?"

Hodari looked at her. "All I can say is that your enemy will return soon, and when he does, you will face a choice of who to side with. The choice you make will affect you for the rest of your life, so choose wisely," he said.

Vitani nodded. She knew the answer to that choice already, there was no way she would ever take her father's side. She was with the love of her life and that was where she belonged, and as the queen she had to protect her pride.
