Bakari woke with a start feeling his fur standing on end. His dream hadn't exactly been pleasent and it stung freshly in his mind. He noticed his other two companions sitting nearby and felt his paw which still hurt.

[Zeke]

Zeke saw Bakari woke up from his long nap, seemingly suprised. "Eat up, we have a long trip ahead of us," Zeke said, looking over at the lion with his usual blank stare.

Mila heard Bakari get up but didn't do or say anything. She continued to lay on Zeke's mane. When Zeke spoke to Bakari, Mila looked at Bakari and she added "Yea, we're going to need to leave soon too. You have been sleeping for quite a while." And without saying more, went back to laying on Zeke.

Bakari yawned wide and slowly began eating, feeling his blood warm with the meal.

Mila tried to relax and be comfortable for the time being. She knew there wouldn't be much time for relaxing in the near future.

[Zeke]

Something then shot into Zeke's mind. He snapped his head back to look at the entrance to the cave. "Hey guys, we gotta go," He said, standing up. "They are going to be patrolling around here and if we stay here, we're done."

Bakari knew he was right and he gulfed down his meal with renewed vigor, his ears already listening for the sounds of distant pawsteps.

About a mile downwind, a hyena pack was making its way across the savanna. Hyenas aren't strategic hunters like lions are, but their leader seemed to know what he was doing. Staying downwind meant the pack could smell them but they couldn't smell the pack. They trotted onwards evading the lion's keen sense of smell.
