"Finally!" She excitedly said. Her paws were acing after walking miles to get her. "I have one question." She said again. "Are Simba and Nala still, betrothed?" Sarafina asked nervously.

Simba heard Sarafina's question. With everything that had just happened to him, he had simply forgotten all about his betrothal to Nala. "Yeah, Mom, are Nala and I still supposed to be married one day?" he asked Sarabi.

[Pixie]

"If you want to be, you can. But don't think about that now, wait till your'e older." Sarabi said. "We will be here until we are ready to return. I don't know how long that will take, but we will stay here." she said.

"Yes mam," Simba replied. In his mind, he had more questions, but he decided that he had asked his mother enough of them for the moment. He then joined the pride in settling in. That night, they lay down to sleep. Simba was fine at first, but he then had a horrific nightmare of Mufasa's death. He woke up with a loud shout, waking the entire pride. In his distress, he looked at Sarabi. "I had a nightmare about when Dad died," he told her, his voice bordering on crying.

"Oh Simba, It's ok. I dream about him too. But you're here now, and you're safe in my arms" she said as she nuzzled his head. A tear slid down her face. Her heart ached with the loss of her perfect life.

"Why did Uncle Scar say it was my fault?" Simba continued, trying to figure out why his own uncle had told him this.

[Pixie]

"I dont know, Simba. Scar is.... consumed by his feelings towards your father, he always has been. Jealousy got the better of him, I'm afraid." Sarabi said, gazing into the distance. "But my son, you father's death was not your fault" she said, her voice catching on the word death. She rubbed her chin on his head. "Remember that. There was nothing you could have done, and your father... would've wanted you to be alive, even if it ended in his own death" she whispered.

Mufasa was watching from the stars, listening to every word Sarabi was saying. Inside he wanted to be there and give her a massive hug and to see Simba again. However, he knew until they joined him, all he could do was watch.

Simba listened to his mother's words. Although he understood for the most part, there were still other questions in the cub's mind. For example, what was Zira's involvement in this horrific event? However, he chose not to ask these things. The cub had been through enough trauma without reliving it again. He fell back asleep. The next day, Simba found out the true reason for their journey and stay in the jungle: they would be staying until he had become an adult lion, and until that time, he would train to be a king and to retake Pride Rock. Simba, knowing how his mother would likely react if he tried to get out of it, simply agreed. "Yes mam," he said.

And so, Simba's training began. For most of the day, he learned and repeated everything he would need to know when he finally went to retake Pride Rock. The first day of his training finally ended in the evening. After joining the rest of the pride in a delicious meal of forest antelope, he decided to go and hang out with Nala, since he hadn't spent time with her since they left. He went to her. "Hey, Nala, I'm sorry I haven't talked with you since we left Pride Rock," he began.
