Kiara pulled away from Vah, deciding that they should probably start their exploring if they wanted to be back by sunset, "Yeah, let's go?" she asked, nearly running ahead of Vah but managing to calm herself

Vah grinned at Kiara's eagerness to get out and explore the place, and he quickly followed suit by walking next to Kiara, a sly smile present in his expression. He took one last look at the plains that they were about to go and explore and then looked back at Kiara who didn't have a clue about what he was about to do next. Poor Kiara. "Race ya." he said simply, not waiting for a reply before taking off down the slope that led out towards the mysterious plains. His mane slowed him down while he was running, but he was probably too far ahead of Kiara for that to matter. Although he couldn't count her out of catching up.

Kiara didn't expect this, and it took her a few moments to actually start running after him, "Hey, wait!" she yelled hoping he would stop. She knew she couldn't out-run him, "It's not funny!"

Vah ignored Kiara's attempts to get him to stop, and continued to run at his full speed, as if he was being chased by something that was trying to kill him, all the way down to the bottom of the slope, laughing to himself as he went. Finally, he stopped, and the only reason for that, was because he had reached the bottom. Turning around, he glanced up at Kiara who was sprinting down after him, doing everything she could to catch up with him. Vah would've been laughing his head off if he wasn't as tired as he was after sprinting all the way down to the bottom, and instead of laughing, he was brathing very hard, trying to get in as much air as possible.

Kiara finally caught up with Vah, breathing much more heavy than he was. "What was that for?" she asked between heavy breaths, before beginning to look at what was around them and noticing that all the animals they've seen from the top were now gone. "Hey... Where did all the animals go?"

Vah smirked as Kiara finally reached him, at the bottom of the hill. He was still contemplating whether he should say he was sorry, or joke around and maybe annoy her some more. He decided to do a bit of both. "Yeah, sorry, it was kinda fun though." Well, for him it was anyway, seeing as he knew what was going to happen. The guilt started to build up and he eventually gave in. "Sorry..." he perked up a bit when Kiara said something that didn't make sense at all. "Hang on...what?" he suddenly looked around, and just as Kiara said, there were no animals. "But...We saw them when we were up there..." he gestured up to the top of the slope. "This is strange..."

Kiara grinned as she managed to bring Vah into apologising. She always enjoyed making sad faces on Kovu and her dad. But she turned her attention back to the empty valley, which was filled with other living things a few moments ago. "I know, right?" She asked, looking around. Usually animals didn't run away from lions, especially if they were in groups and the lion/s were in sight. But now they were all gone, and it felt really odd. "What could have driven them all away?" she asked, trying to look around for anything suspicious

Vah began to frantically glance around, trying to figure out why there was suddenly absolutely no animals in sight, when, just a minute ago, there were animals almost everywhere. He was also looking for anything that could point as to why they had all just...vanished. Vah started to walk cautiously away from where they had just come from, and out towards the unknown lands ahead of them. He turned back to Kiara and tried to listen out for anything strange. There was nothing. "I have a bad feeling about this..." he sighed and gestured for Kiara to follow him. "Then again, I've had plenty of bad feelings that have been wrong."

Kiara took a moment to look at Vah as he talked about that not all of his bad feelings were true, "Yeah, but not all of them were wrong, were they?" she asked, not really expecting a no. She knew according to Vah's history that she was right, and she was also getting a bad feeling about this

Vah nodded absent-mindedly, still looking for any signs as to what was going on. "Yeah, I suppose you're right, but do you really want something bad to happen right now?" He asked, knowing that he definitely didn't want anything bad to happen right now anyway. Shaking his head at the thought of sonething like that happening, he continued to walk in the opposite direction from the slope, slowly and cautiously, ready to react to anything out of the ordinary. "Come on, seems like there's a mystery that needs solving...and I really don't want to do that alone."
