"If this is a 'what if' question, I'll respond," Chaltuu said, her eyes narrowing. "If it's you trying to make some sneaky move on me, I'll claw your eyes out." She seemed not to really mean it, but she kept her glare up. "So, it's a 'what if' question, correct?"

[Adofo]

Enzi: Yes! What if I asked you to spend the rest of your life with me!? Right now!

[Iri]

"What in the Spirit's name is 'marriage'?" Chaltuu said, exasperated. In her pride, there was no "marriage" or whatever he had just said. There wasn't even "kings" or "queens". Only leaders. And if he asked her to "spend the rest of her life with him" she swore silently she would throw him off the mountain once they reached the summit.

"What do you mean 'if you were to ask me right now'?" Chaltuu said suspiciously. She understood the "loving each other" and "being together". The "having a family together" part hit home. She never wanted cubs.

Chaltuu looked about ready to explode. "No!" she snapped. "Why are you asking me this so soon? I don't even know anything about you, other than your past. You don't even know anything about me!"

"Don't even try to protest!" Chaltuu said, snarling. "We've known each other for, what, three days? And you expect me to come running to you and saying yes?"
