Vitani resented being treated like a helpless female, and leapt up at Daxis' challenge As she was a few inches taller than Daxis she was able to stare down her muzzle at him.

"Oh please, you're just a big bag of hot air." Vitani said cooly. "I bet if you were actually faced with a fight you'd run as fast as you could. You couldn't kill a hyena and you sure don't scare me."

Vitani didn't even extend her claws or show her teeth so cold and unworried was she. She didn't actually yawn in Daxis' face, but the attitude was all over her body language. She was a tolerant lioness, well, more tolerant than she had been in her days as an outsider at any rate, but there was such a thing as being pushed too far. She resolved to skeak to Simba about Daxis at her earliest opportunity. She'd take Gumu up on his offer to teach the little lion a lesson.

Daxis was affraight of Gumu now went one step back but then he was surprised about Vitani and he let out a few noises of fear.
He looked fearful in her face until he noticed that she didnt have extended her claws or was really angry so he acted cool again and
looked angry in her face. Daxis tryed to push her away but he didn't have the power and yelled out.

Hey let me up you... you... you... ahhhh let me up

Amanda heard Daxis' yells for help and ran over to watch. Ever since Simba had asked her and the others to leave Kiara, Kovu, and Cutie alone for a while, she'd been wandering aimlessly around the Pridelands looking for something to do. When she arrived at the scene, she was shocked to see Vitani talking sternly to a very scared-looking Daxis, who looked like he was trying to push her out of the way. How rude, thought Amanda to herself. Then she noticed a third lion in the group. He was a large bulky male with golden-brown fur, a blond mane, and blue eyes. He looked furious. "Vitani, who's that?" Amanda whispered out of the corner of her mouth.

Vitani sniffed at Daxis' efforts to push her back and away, decided that letting Daxis exhaust himself against her strength would be more effective humiliation than fighting back. Just then, she herd Amanda come onto the scene, probably attracted by the loud voices. Vitani hadn't been paying much attention to Gumu, being too worried about her own personal dignity. She casually turned her back on Daxis to respond to the worried little cub, throwing a glance at Gumu as she did so.

"Don't worry Amanda, that's Gumu. Simba found him wandering the lands earlier today. He offered him a home here. He's a very dignified and honorable lion."

Vitani paused here, giving Gumu the opportunity to introduce himself further.

Gumu seemed to enjoy himself whilst watching Daxis' attempts which turn out to be in vain, what more can you ask for than humiliation of the arrogant? Vitani turned her back on the unruly teenager to talk to the cub, but his eyes stayed focused on him for a while.
The Southlander had a somewhat faint smile written over his muzzle. It wasn't a smile of happiness, it was one of knowing.
He heard Vitani speak to the cub named Amanda, she seemed to be a tad bit bedazzled.

"Yes, indeed, no need to worry, it would be a great mistake for me to have a bad reputation with a future huntress."

Gumu slowly stepped towards the whelp, not trying to scare it. He then dropped himself infront of her, laying down on the rock.

"As you already know, my name is Gumu, I am a loyal ally, so please, do not worry."

He swallowed and layed idle for a short while.

"What was yours again?"

Vitani figured the best decision would be to just ignore Daxis. He was showing all the classic signs of wanting attention. A softer lioness would probably take Daxis under her wing and try to solve the root cause of Daxis' behavior, but Vitani was just too ticked off by the young lion that she didn't really want anything more to do with him. She'd tried it the nice way, now it was time to try it the Vitani way. She wondered vaguely whether Daxis would summon the guts to actually strike her while her back was turned. Such a blow might do serious damage to her if Daxis landed it in the right place as she couldn't see to defend herself. She hoped that her prediction that Daxis wouldn't attack was accurate.

A very small golden furred lioness climbed the pride rock. She gazed at the horizont where even the last trace of sunlight had been gone. Laini was disturbed by the loud shouting of the lions up there so that she got up to look for the source of this noise.

Her den was far away near the den Daxis was assigned to. She was the lioness with the lowest rank in the whole pride. Partly it was because she hated brawls and anything that would make her dirty. She really cared for her appereance and she was very feminine. The only lioness that she sometimes socialized with was Serafina.

Laini crossed the edge of the corner and now had a good vision on the group of lions. She stopped abruptly as she noticed Vitani. Laini feared this strong lioness and not only because Vitani was far bigger and stronger than Laini but also because it had been Vitani who killed her mother back in the big war between the prideland and the outlands.
Laine walked backwards until she was behind the corner again. She would not even have spoken up to any other lion in the pride if it had not been Vitani waiting there but this made it even worse. Laini evaded Vitani as much as she could. It was not that Laini held grudges but... she was afraid of the outlanders and especially of Vitani.
Laini herself was a very bad fighter. As a huntress she was a disaster and noone really thought about giving her any task.

The young lioness turned around and walked back towards her den. She was tired already but she had such a light sleep that this yelling and roaring did prevent her from finding peace in her den. Maybe she should go a bit further to the dens near the private water hole? The dens there were usually empty and maybe it was more silent there?

While Laini thought about it her white paws carried her all the way down pride rock. She reached the private water hole. She did not dare to go there for a drink. It was only for guests and the higher rank lions. The voices of Vitani and the others were to far away to disturb her here. She had been right.

Laini entered the next den she could find and curled up next to the entrance. She did not know that she mistakenly took the den that Simba assigned for Gumu. Laini closed her eyes and tried to finally find some sleep.

"I'm Amanda." answered Amanda, smiling shyly. Talking to older lions always made her nervous. She quickly turned her attention back to Daxis, who was still trying, in vain, to push Vitani out of his way. Yet it seemed to her that all he had succeeded in doing was nothing more than completely humiliating himself. Amanda shot Vitani a puzzled look. What could she have done to make him so mad?
Just then, Daxis snarled and yelled at Vitani again. It was what he said that made Amanda's ears prick in shock. Without thinking, she sprang to her paws and growled viciously at him, claws extended. "Hey, you can't speak to Vitani that way!" she snarled, every hair on her small body quivering in anger.

The blonde maned lion drowsily smiled at the cub, such fragile beings.. and yet they grow to be defenders and hunters. His ears twitched as Daxis gave new words, and Amanda let go of a growl.
He closed his eyes whilst rising to his paws and let go of a sigh, the foreign lion must be the official most uneducateable cub ever, he opened his eyes slowly while he was making way for Daxis.

"Did you not learn your lesson? Are you challenging me to take things a step further?"

He spoke in a low voice to the red maned feline.

"How can you be so idiotic to act like this on your trial days? It makes no sense to me, stranger."
