The trainer sighed. "From what I heard, Delano is thought to have committed treason." He saw right away that Muroki thought of it at absurd. "Look, I am not the lion to talk to about this," the trainer said, "but I know that you won't be able to get him out, if that's what you want. I can let you talk to him if you wish, but you won't be able to leave with him."

Despite their differences, the trainer felt actual compassion towards Muroki. "I know this is hard for you, and I don't know whether to believe or not that your brother did whatever he did..." He placed a paw on Muroki's shoulder. "But the punishment for treason is death. Unless he confesses, your brother will be held for two more days, at which his position will be evaluated. It is then when it will be determined if he is to be convicted or not."

The trainer dropped his paw from Muroki's shoulder. "Talk to your brother if you want, but know that you can't do anything."

Muroki felt his anger rising, not at the trainer though. He believed in the say 'Don't kill the messenger'. "Committed treason?" he asked simply, somehow keeping his voice below the growling level. "Committed treason?" how could they say this on any lion who has ever worked undercover not to mention a lion who was directly responsible for getting rid of the underworld? "He's the reason this is all over." as much as Muroki wanted to see his brother, there was something more important. "If I can't talk to you about this," he continued, looking back at him, "Then who can I talk to?"

The trainer got up. "Follow me," he said simply, and lead Muroki deeper into the caves. Muroki would not give up, and the trainer couldn't blame him. "I give you no guarantees," the trainer explained as they walked, "and whatever you do, stay calm and organized. If you lose your temper, it will only hurt your brother."

Leading Muroki for a bit longer, the trainer stopped in front of a fairly large cave. "Here we are. This is the lion who can set your brother free. But the chances of that are low, don't count on it. Remember: stay calm." The trainer patted Muroki before leaving.

Muroki followed the trainer, already planning a long speech of exactly what he was thinking about the entire police right now, but dropping the idea as soon as he heard the trainer's advice. He was right, he should keep his temper under control. In the cave there was only one lion, and even though he was there on his own he seemed to be rather busy. Busy with what though, Muroki had not the slightest clue. "Excuse me?" he asked, slowly stepping into the cave.

(( I guess you're the lion then? ))

The lino was busy writing on a large piece of bark when he heard Muroki. Looking up, he smiled at the stranger. "Yes? May I help you?" He asked. It was rather unusual when he would get bothered in person by others, but it also meant that every single time, everyone he spoke to had legitimate reasons to talk to him.

So he set aside the bark as he let Muroki talk.

Muroki was somewhat relieved when the lion smiled at him. At least the lion appeared to be in a good mood. "My brother was arrested today." he said, figuring he should get straight to the point. "His name's Delano." he knew he'll have to mention his brother's name at one point or another, so might as well do it now. "He was working undercover until... up to a few days I think when the underworld was defeated. Just half an hour ago two lions came from here and arrested him for committing treason. I was told I should come talk to you about this."

The lion looked over Muroki. He knew well enough about Delano's case, because of how much attention was given to treason. "What do you want to talk about?" The lion asked. "Yes, we arrested Delano because of treason. We got word that he is a traitor from a source which I cannot tell you about. And because of that, we arrested him and are now holding him." Muroki shifted uneasily, but the lion ignored the movement.

"We are waiting for him to confess to treason. Once he will do that, we will be able to move him along quicker." It never occurred to this lion that Delano might not in fact be a traitor, so he didn't act like it. "But if he won't confess, we will hold him until we can process him. So... What do you want to talk about?"

"By moving him along quicker do you mean executing him?" Muroki asked, remembering the trainer's advice and keeping his voice normal. He took in a deep breath. "My brother is not a traitor, that's what I want to talk about. He was there undercover like you told him to, he did everything you told him to. Thanks to him this whole thing is over." he was about to ask about that 'source', but knew that he won't get any answer. "Do you have a proof that he committed treason?" they needed proof in order to convict him, hopefully.

The lion saw that Muroki was rapidly getting more agitated, and knew that this meeting would soon be over. "Do you have any proof that he isn't?" He retorted. "What proof we have or don't have, I can't tell you. But yes, we do execute traitors. And if your brother is found guilty, that's what will happen."

He sighed in annoyance and reached out for the bark. "I have to warn you: if you try and break your brother out, then both of you will be executed on the spot." Even with Muroki still in the cave, the lion began writing again.

"My brother is not a traitor, I know this without you admitting that there's no proof." it was kind of enraging that they arrested him based on some lion's theory. "I don't know what source you have but you can't execute a lion who risked his life to help this pride and brought an end to this nightmare just because somebody suspects him." Shouldn't it be the other way around; innocent until guilt is proven and not guilty until innocence is proven? "Please, you can't do this, he's innocent. He trained here and he worked for you, he has a record documenting that and what he did when he worked here."
