Ahadi sighed. He was glad that he found his sons and the lionesses in one piece. He was hoping that much, bu feared much worse. "No it's not Mufasa," he said. Mufasa and Taka looked at him, confused. Ahadi glared at them, and they shrank back. "It was both of your faults. You are the future leaders of the pride! Don't you care about the wellbeing of it's members?" he asked. "And to bring Sarafina and Sarabi along? Could you have taken them anywhere more dangerous?"
Mufasa and Taka looked at the ground, ashamed. Well, one of them did. Taka was still thinking about the graveyard. The place appealed to him. And the hyenas that lived there... Taka realized then that he felt a lot like them. Taka enjoyed his life in the Pridelands, but it felt empty for him. He was always second to Mufasa, always.. the younger one. While their parents tried to treat them as equals, Mufasa still had it easier. Sometimes Ahadi would take Mufasa on trips to teach him things about ruling, leaving Taka behind. Taka always got... the scraps. Just like the hyenas did. "Dad?" Taka asked.
Ahadi sighed again. "Yes Taka?" he asked. He was telling the two why the graveyard was dangerous. Primarily, because it housed the hyenas. And while it was obvious that Taka and Mufasa were thinking about other things, Taka seemed more preoccupied than his brother.
"Dad, why were the hyenas banished?" Taka asked.
Ahadi thought for a moment. "They were banished before I was here, that's for certain," he said. "For how long, I don't know exactly, but the reason was that they didn't honor the circle of life" he explained. "Hyenas loved to kill just for fun. They would torment anyone or anything they felt like. In fact, when I met your mother, she was defending herself from hyenas much like you were about to have to have don back at the graveyard." he said. "That is why they can't be trusted, and why they were banished." Taka and Mufasa nodded, and Ahadi smiled for once. "Well, I am certain that one of these days you would have wandered into the graveyard sooner or later. I am just grateful that you are safe. Disappointed, yes, but also grateful. Please stay away from that place, will you?" Taka and Mufasa nodded again.
Ahadi looked up at the sky. The stars were already up, late into the night. Ahadi got up. "Come on, boys. It's late. Your mother must be worried." He lead Taka and Mufasa back to Priderock.
