[Stormy]

This was the statement that took Flash by surprise. He looks back towards her. “What are you talking about? Ever since I met you when we were younger you would ALWAYS talk about becoming Queen one day, and you were ecstatic about it.”

[TheLastLion]

"I was 12, I thought being Queen was just a permission slip to get everything I wanted and to do all the things I wanted to do..."

[Stormy]

“And now you don’t want to be because you know you have responsibilities? You can’t tell me that’s the only reason. You always knew you would have them. You talked about that before.”

[TheLastLion]

"Oh, I knew that and I expected that, but again, I was 12 and I was fixated on the power perks of the position. It never really hit me until later, I suppose." Sadie said. "It's kind of like knowing that someone is going to slap you in the face versus actually being slapped in the face. Knowing what's coming is different from when it actually hits you if that makes any sense." She attempted to explain.

[Stormy]

“Oh, you mean like this.” Flash says gently slapping the top of Sadie’s head with his paw playfully. “Well technically.... you don’t HAVE to do it if you didn’t want to...” Flash says with a mischievous smile.

[TheLastLion]

Sadie couldn't help but giggle at the gesture.

[Stormy]

“Seriously though. You don’t have to if you don’t want to. The rules of the pride are dumb anyway. There’s other cubs they can use.”

[TheLastLion]

"Then who would take my place as Queen? Kayla?" Sadie asked.

[Stormy]

“Quite literally, anybody could. You did mention there was new cubs at the pride. They could be eventually. Or anybody else! It does not have to be you.” Flash rolls his eyes. “Their whole system is dumb. It should just be anyone who is fit to rule.”

"Flash, Jay's cubs are 5 and 4 years old, respectively." Sadie replied,
