Riu was shocked for a while. Since she hadn't really been around the 'love' part of life, she wasn't familiar with being loved. "Me?" She replied, barely audible. I do like him, I think I may even love him. But what happens if I only embarrass myself?

Riu stood up, walking over and sitting next to Mala. "I love you too." She smiled at him, trying to comfort him.

Mala looked into her eyes, then pressed his muzzle to hers and kissed her.

Riu gave him a small kiss, then backed up. "I should go. It's been fun, Mala! Hope to see you in the morning." She began to walk towards Priderock, curling up in the same spot as the night before.

Mala came trotting back as happy as could be. He found himself a place close to Riu and fell asleep.

Riu felt Mala lay near her, and she opened her eyes long enough to see him sleeping, and dozed back off with a soft smile stuck on her face. For once she'll have a friend to see in the morning.

The next morning, Mala nudged Riu awak.

Riu yawned, glancing over at Mala. "Oh, good morning Mala." She was still a bit sleepy, but she sat herself up, glad to see him again. Last night was surely something to remember.
