[Closed] Trials in the Pridelands

Simba woke up and joined Nala. "Good morning, my queen," he said, giving her a lick. As he looked around, he had no idea what was happening with Zira in the Outlands.

Monstro panicked a bit, he wasn't sure who could help. "Geni! Regina! HELP!" he growled as he stepped outside his den. He ran back to Zira's side and tried to comfort her, "Help is on the way..Everything is going to be ok.." he muttered.

Nala smiled and nuzzled Simba's mane, "Morning. So what are we going to do about our daughter?" she asked softly. A frown passed Nala's muzzle and then she looked back to the Pridelands, "Why would she head to the watering hole at night?" she said questioning Simba.

Dyanna awoke slowly and she nuzzled Sarafina, "Fina..." she whispered softly. She heard no response, "Fina.." she whispered again. The cub pushed Sarafina's side with her paws and tears filled her eyes. It was blurry and Dyanna ran out of the den towards Simba and Nala, "Help..Fina wont move." she yelled crying in frantic.

It was the truth, Sarafina had passed on during the night time with a smile across her muzzle. She was curled up next to her loving mate Shujaa and continued on her journey towards the Great Kings.

Simba was about to answer Nala, but was cut off by Dyanna. He looked at Nala. "Nala, we need to go check on your mother," he said.

Another roar escaped her lips.
"Is mom okay?" asked Kovu.
"It's... alright... Kovu..." And a roar of pain tumbled out.

By now, Shujaa was awake and was trying to rouse his beloved, with no success. It was now apparent to him what had happened. He looked at Nala when he saw her enter the den. "Nala, your mother has gone to the realm of the great kings and queens. You should tell your brother," he said.

Zira peered behind Monstro. Geni was nowhere to be found, but Regina was still lying there. She growled at the lioness to help. With a start she remembered that Regina couldn't have cubs. She wouldn't know anything about it.
"Dad, what's happening?" Although his mother said it was okay, he was worried.

Finally, Regina came over, but kept her distance. "I wonder what the new cub will look like," she said.

Zira closed her eyes tightly, as though she could forget all the pain. It wasn't like this with Kovu or Vitani. Their births were faster and much less painful. But there was something wrong. With a last scream of pain, a cub lay on the ground. However, it was missing its left front limb. Zira looked up at her mate with a sigh, and began to lick the cub clean. If it was still alive, she couldn't tell. But she put time and work into this, and she wouldn't let the cub die.
The small girl whined slightly, batting her paw at her mother. With a smile, Zira placed her in her arms and held her close. Noticing the small tuft of hair on her head, Zira said, "Vitani..." But she shook her head, trying to forget. "No. Shetani. Monstro, her name is Shetani."

Regina moved slightly closer. "Zira, how will she hunt with a limb missing?" she asked, nervous about how Zira would react.

Zira shook her head. "I don't know, Regina. I'm sure she can, though. She has to."
