[Open] Vengeance

Vitani continued walking towards the waterhole with her friend. Not only was Kali a good lurker but it was also getting darker, so she failed to notice him.

Now was the time. Kali stepped out of his hiding place and went around the back of the two females. He came closer and then said,

Vitani, even after this entire time, was able to recognize her father's voice. She jumped around in surprise, becoming even more horrified upon seeing him. Even now that she was grown up, all the traumas from her cub-hood regarding him made her feel like a helpless little cub around him. "What do you want?" she asked, backing away nervously with her tail between her legs.

Vitani looked worried, hoping that he didn't mean what she thought he might be meaning. "Rise? Against who?" despite how much it made no sense, her father loved Zira. He was probably aiming to avenge her death.

Vitani gulped. She knew that his was probably what he was about to say, yet there was still some part of her which hoped he wouldn't say that. "I..." how was she going to get out of this? She knew how cruel her father could be and it would be a lie to say she wasn't scared. "I'm never going to do that." she said finally, her tone not as stable as she hoped it would be.
