[Closed] Little Stranger (Taraji Chapter 1)

Mila blushed suddenly after Simba and Kovu had finished speaking.

"Hehe... I'll be glad to take her for a little bit.. but if she wakes up, I won't know what to do, so I'll try and get you or Kiara if she does." Mila replied, giggling towards Kovu question. She honestly didn't have the slightest idea on how to handle or take care of a cub. Hopefully she would be able to soon.

She waited for Kovu's reply as she listened to Simba speak to Amanda, noting the fatherly tone he spoke with, just like she remembered from her early cub days.

With all the ruckus around her Taraji slowly started to wake up. She had only slept for a few hours but the rare meal and water and the nice and warm sleep gave her a bit of her energy back. As the slumber slowly wore off she started moving with her legs. Her baby paws ran through the fur on Kovus chest while her eyes were still closed.

Taraji started purring very very silently and streched her legs a last time. Her actions were still very slow and not much strength was behind them. But at least she was able to move a bit.

Taraji started to recordnize voices around her. Even if she did not understand what they were saying due the slumber still covered her she started to wonder what was going on around her. She felt someone stroking her.
Taraji tried to remember where she was. She only remembered that she had waken up and got some water and something to eat. Her teeth still hurt from the chewing that they were not used to. And there had been this motherlike lioness. But the paw that was stroking her seemed to be bigger. Or was it her imagination?

Taraji's eye lids were still to heavy to open and she was just about to shake of her slumber. A female feline talked something. This was also not the same voice that had talked to her before, or was it?
Taraji sniffed and tried to get the scent of the lioness but she only got a comlete different and strange scent. This made her feel insecure. Or did she not remember the scent right? Taraji was confused. A small whimper left her muzzle and her purring died. She made a second attempt to open her eyes...

Kiara remained close to where Vitani and the new lion sat, still waiting for a response from the new face as to who he was. Out of the corner of her eye however, the golden furred princess’ attention was captured by yet another strange face, causing her to politely excuse herself from the current situation.

”Um, I’ll be right back.” Kiara stated, as she swiftly turned around and made her way back down the slope of Pride Rock towards the new lion who had caught her gaze.

As she approached the large male, the golden furred lioness’ eyes thoroughly looked over the new creature. It was clear that she was rather captivated by the male’s unique mane color as well as the fact that he must be new to the pride as well. Hoping that this feline would be more considerate to at least reply to her introduction, Kiara spoke in a friendly tone towards the new male.

”Oh, another new face to the pride. My name is Kiara. What might yours be handsome?” Kiara asked with a warm smile upon her muzzle.

It was her typical nature to give every new member of her father’s pride a warm welcome, more so if the creature was as attractive as this new lion was. All be it a friendly gesture, Kiara couldn’t help but keep her stare upon the new male, temporarily forgetting that she had left the young, crystal eyed cub with her mate and company.

Simba spotted the slight movement from the young cub, who was still neatly perched upon Kovu’s chest. Smiling and watching observantly, the king was glad to see the poor cub finally moving, relieving a bit of the worry that hung in his mind about the young creatures condition. Keeping quiet as to give Kovu the chance to play the fatherly role, Simba merely held back and waited, knowing that he probably wasn’t needed but still stayed just in case.

Kovu was about to let Mila gently take the cub, when he felt the small cub wiggle on his chest and raised his head off the ground to look. He forgot about Mila for a moment as he examined her. It looked like the cub was trying to get up. Kovu kept stroking her, but more softly and slowly now so as not to alarm her as she woke up. She moved her head very slightly, and her ears and nose twitched. Kovu whispered to the cub, trying to reassure her with a soft and gentle voice.

"Hey there little one. Are you awake? How are you doing there. You're going to be okay now. We found you and saved you, you can stay here where you'll be safe. Are you awake little one? What's your name?"

Vitani had been taken by surprise by Kiara's sudden appearance, and didn't get a chance to reply to him before she bounded off again. Vitani shook her head and returned to the view. She noticed Kiara had met up with the same strange lion that she'd seen Simba walking with earlier. She was momentarily concerned for Kiara's welfare, but then pushed the worry aside. Simba must have okayes his presence in the pridelands if she was able to wander right up to Pride Rock, and Vitani trusted Simba's judgement. She lay down beside Daxis, who had already closed his eyes against the sun and closed her own, planning to introduce Daxis to the rest of the pride when she woke up from the afternoon siesta.

Taraji was terrified as she managed to open her eyes. The crystal globes looked in panic to the big head in front of her. She tried to crawl to the side but fell off Kovus chest and tumbled to the ground. She was barely able to move but she crawled backwards. Her eyes were searching for the lioness she had expected to see.

She never had seen any male lion before. Well if the one time Kovu suprised and shocked her already was not counted. In fact every of this strange lions other than this lioness that was so soft and nice like her mother scared her to no end. Even worst she was still half asleep and so even more terified from this sudden discovery that this lioness left her alone like her mother did.

Slowly but surely she crawled backwards until she hit the wall. She made herself as small as possible, shivering and looking with her big crystal eyes towards the strangers. Never have met anyone than her mother was sure one reason for her to be very shy. She ever had been shy. Maybe even the fact that her mother always hid her made it even stronger.

Tarajis eyes were searching for a route to escape but she could not see any exit of the den due Kovu and Simba blocked it. Also she had no strength left to even try to run away now so the best she could do was to make herself as small as possible, hide in the shadows of the wall and shivering from the shock. Her breath ran very fast and unrythmical.

Kovu hissed in fear for the cub's safety as she seemed to fling herself off his chest. He winced as she hit the ground, though he didn't hear the sound of any major bruises. Kovu started after her as she scurried painfully away.

"It's okay little one, you're safe in this den." Kovu said, keeping a low and gentle voice. He then thought the better of it and backed off. He didn't want to make the cub feel cornered or threatened. Fleetingly he wished Kiara were here. She'd know what to do. He then looked around, undecided about what to do. As he saw Mila and Amanda though, he felt a glimmer of hope.

"Well it looks like she doesn't want to talk to me." Kovu said, still speaking softly. "Mila, maybe she's more comfortable around female lions, do you want to try and talk to her? Or Amanda, you might have an even better chance of not alarming her. Just don't startle her. Let's everyone else give them some room."

As he finished speaking Kovu backed away a few paces, then lay down facing the cub. He was keenly curious if the two females could soothe the poor creature.

Mila was startled to see the little cub hop off of Kovu and into a corner. The cub seemed so frightened and alone... much like how she felt.

"I don't know... I don't have enough faith in myself to make sure I am doing the right thing!" She quickly and quietly exclaimed, furious about her own confusion. Mila jolted up from her sitting position and took a seat next to Kovu, watching the little cub but giving the thing enough space so that she wouldn't feel threatened.

"I'm as bad at this as you are..." Mila whispered to Kovu, annoying herself as she said this.

Following suit, Simba rose to his paws and backed up a couple of paces. He knew that the young cub would be scared of her new surroundings however he didn’t expect such a startled reaction from the small feline. Agreeing with his son-in-law’s suggestion, Simba gave a look to both Mila and Amanda as to give his approval to what Kovu had proposed, knowing that cubs initially had a fear of adult males and often times, felt more at ease in the presence of a lioness. Taking a comfortable position next to Kovu, Simba whispered softly to him as the king watched the scene unfold before him.

”I can go get Kiara for you if you want Kovu. You just say the word. You should stay here though, seeing as the young cub will have to get used to your presence sooner or later but I agree with your plan of giving her a bit of space. We don’t want to frighten her.”

Gumu lowered his jaw and heaved his eyebrows as the lioness approached him boldly, calls him handsome and calling herself, well, Kiara. Simba's daughter. He made slight stuttering sounds. Simba's daughter. He needed to make a good first impression! Simba's daughter. We all know what impact a king's little girl can have on him. SIMBA'S DAUGHTER!


The Southlander appeared to be in a frenzied state while staring wide-eyedly at Kiara. He closed his mouth and narrowed his eyes, then, cleared his throat loudly and relaxed his expression.

"I am Gumu, your newest addition to your father's pride, and at your service, k-Kiara."

He bowed his head slowly bended his front legs to show his 'good will' at the the feline with the golden fur.

Daxis herd a friendly voice while he rested with closed eyes. He opened his eyes and wanted reply her but became interrupted by Gumu and looked angry at him.
He raised and made himself taller and spoke aggressive to Gumu

"Hey she asked me so be quiet"

He turned around to Kiara and replied her now with the same voice he spoke to Gumu

Im Daxis and now i want to rest so be quiet too or leave

He layed down again and closed his eyes
