Furaha: No its not. Otherwise it wouldn't be bugging you like this. Now spill it! Please!

[Iri]

"No, Furaha," Arida said quietly. "It's nothing. Just... nothing. Never mind. It's just, Ebyne and I aren't getting along." Fortunately, she wasn't lying; she and her daughter, Ebyne, had been quarreling a lot over the past few months.

[Adofo]

Furaha: Okay...I'll talk to her.
He just then saw his daughter come into the cave.
Furaha: Baby, can daddy have a word with you?

[Iri]

Ebyne, now a young adolescent, sighed impatiently. "What is it?" she replied. Her voice was a bit icy. She had gone from a shy cub to a shy adolescent. And her fear of everyone else, except her parents, had made her bitter. She didn't even like to be around Adofo.

[Adofo]

Furaha: Baby....I want us to talk. Your mother is concerned about you. She's worried about your attitude. And if I recall, you even refused to give your grandpa a hug on his last birthday. Whats wrong?

[Iri]

"I feel like he's been showered with sympathy, too much sympathy," she said quietly. "All the time, lionesses and lions pity him for everything 'oh so horrible' he's gone through. What about others?" Her voice grew colder. "When does anyone ever take the time to recognize the fact that he's not the only one who has suffered trauma? Sure, he lost his parents, but does no one ever realize that other lions and lionesses have suffered loss of their parents? Maybe their whole families? No, because they're all too busy showering HIM with sympathy!"
She looked like she somewhat regretted letting that all out. But she shared the same thoughts as Zanae; what she didn't know was that Adofo had changed.

[By the way, Adofo doesn't hear this. Not any of it. And no one tells him. Ebyne absolutely hates when lions/lionesses dote on one lion/person/whatever. She hates sympathy.]

[Adofo]

Furaha: I know. But there's one thing he has that no one else can understand. Not even his own cubs. Being a human. And i know you already know this but...even though he has a mate and a family...he can't help but feel different. And he's your great grandfather. And he loves you!

[Iri]

"Oh, my gosh," Ebyne snarled. "I hate it when you all say that! 'He's a human'! So what? Sagira is a hyena, how do you think she feels? Does no one in this pride care for anyone but Adofo?!" She bared her teeth angrily. "Just because he's a human, everyone else uses that as an excuse to give him attention!" She bristled with fury. "I hate it when you sympathize him because he's different! And look, my own father is pitying him! 'Oh, Adofo, please, let me offer you all this pity just because you have to moan about your human roots'!" Her claws unsheathed and she spat at her father. "And you're no different, Furaha!"

[Adofo]

Furaha opened his mouth to yell but he just closed mouth and walked away angry.
Adofo: Furaha, whats wrong?
Furaha: Not now.

[Iri]

Ebyne snarled and huffed, storming out of the cave. Had she broken the relationship with her father? If she did... he was just like the rest of the pride. Always doting on Adofo, always sympathizing with him. And... besides. Adofo always had to moan and remind the entire pride about his human roots constantly, complaining how different he was. And she remembered, with fury, how someone had tried to talk to him about feeling different and their conversation just directed to Adofo, with him saying that at least that lioness wasn't human. She hated it, she hated how he complained and had to remind everyone about his human roots. It annoyed her to no end.
She stopped at the Waterhole and struck the water with her claws angrily.
