Marini's serious tone when she mentioned that she knew about his late-night visits left Tanga scared of what she would say next, as he kept his eyes jammed shut and waited for the furious rant he was sure would come next.

But when she spoke next, her word cause him to hesitantly open one eye at her. "You..." he hesitated, taking a small half-step back deeper into the waterhole, oblivious to the water swirling around his knees now. "...You're not mad?" he asked cautiously, wondering if this was all some sort of joke to get him to open up and confess everything.

Sarabi decided to use this as a chance to jump in on Simba and Nala's talk. Forcing back a grin, she stepped out into the light, making a show of stretching and yawning as if she had just gotten up...she might be a queen, but she did like the get back at the cubs for making her chase after them all the time.

"Morning, you two." she greeted lazily, pretending to look around for Tanga and Marini, even she had heard where they had run off to. "Where's the other two?"

Marini smiled and walked closer to Tanga who was in the shallow part of the water. "I'm not mad." she said smiling and blushing slightly.

Simba looked around at his mother. "They're at the water-hole." he said with a bored tone and a bored expression on his face. He and Nala always found it boring.

Tanga took another step back, the water almost touching his belly fur now as he looked nervously. He found himself a little disbelieving that Marini would be in no way mad, and tried to explain himself now that he was caught out.

"I just...I haven't been able to sleep well since Scar forced us into the private dens, and...well...when I'm with you, I tend to sleep better. Well...that, and..." he paused, his blush increasing as he stopped himself from revealing his crush on her, even though he knew it was most likely a hopeless cause by now.

Sarabi smiled at the two adolescents before her. "Really? And what might they be doing out there?" she asked casually, looking from Simba to Nala and wondering who would spill the beans on their antics first.

Marini took another step towards Tanga, noticing his blush growing deeper. "And?" she asked hopefully, wanting Tanga to tell her how he really felt, even though she knew

"I don't know." Simba said to his mother. He didn't mind telling her, but he didn't know whether Nala did. If she didn't, she could tell his mother.

Sarabi chuckled, deciding to give the two something to make them squirm a little...Simba seemed to have inherited his scheming nautre and adventurism from her rather than Mufasa. "Really?" she said. "So the matchmaking I heard going on before was all just a big joke, was it?"

Nala's jaw dropped as she turned to Simba, giving him a blatant 'what do we do?' look. She ended up managing to give Sarabi a sheepish smile, but left Simba to do the explaining, since he seemed a little less troubled by the idea that Sarabi had just caught them out on their little scheme.

Tanga forced himself to hold his ground now, knowing that if he took another step backwards he'd have to start swimming. Marini had cornered him, and by her question, she knew it, and was not going to let him escape until he spilled the truth...and the entire truth.

He sighed, never feeling more self-conscious, nervous or embarrassed in his entire life as he finally revealed himself to Marini. "And, I...oh, how do I explain this? I-I...I like you, Marini...as in, really like you." he said, shuffling nervously in the water as he waited for her to say or do something back, now that he'd spilled his secrets to her at long last.

Simba just sighed and told his mother. "Marini went to sleep last night, and Nala found Tanga sleeping right next to her in the morning." he explained, "Tanga has a crush on Marini, so we'll see what happened when they get back."

Marini blushed as Tanga told the truth. Even though she knew it, it felt kind of amusing for him to say that by himself. She stayed silent for a few moments, not knowing how to respond. Even though she planned it and played it over and over in her head, when it came to doing it she felt like she couldn't, maybe because she was feeling the same way?
"Ohhh Tanga," she said with a dreamy voice before walking a bit closer and giving him a quick lick on his cheek, "Why didn't you tell me?" she asked blushing again

Sarabi raised her eyebrows, looking at Nala, who nodded in confirmation. "Interesting...and what about Marini?"

Nala answered Sarabi's question. "She has a crush on him, too...but like Simba said, all we can do is wait and see what happens when the two of them get back from the waterhole."

She actually looked out to the north as she said, wondering what the two lovebirds were doing right a this moment...a little grin forming on her face as she remember what Marini has said about teasing Tanga over his crush first.

Tanga jumped as Marini licked his cheek, asking why he had stayed silent. Does that mean she likes me, too? "I-I..." he found his stutter returning in full force as he tried to speak again, taking a hesitant step closer to Marini. "I wasn't sure how you'd feel, and I...I was afraid...I guess."

Scar continued to watch the scene between the two adolescents play out, although he also spotted Shenzi, Banzai and Ed hiding in the tall grass near the two as the wallowed in the shallow part of the waterhole.

"What are you waiting for?" Scar growled to himself as he watched what appeared to be an ambush in play. "Do it...get rid of them!"

Marini smiled a warm smile and Tang and blushed slightly. ""Well I'm glad you did." she said before benting over and giving Tanga a short nuzzle.

The hyena trio were waiting in the tall grass. The plan was simple; they were three, Tanga and Marini were only two. They were a short distance from the two, so they had to keep quiet untill they were close enough to sorround the two adolescents. As they moved closer Shenzi's face turned angry when Ed let out his sick, maniac. "What are you doing?" She said, swiping at her brother, her voice between a whisper and a growl.

Marini stopped nuzzling Tanga when she heard the hyena. "Tanga... did you hear that?" she asked sounding a little concerned

Tanga could not help but smile brilliantly as Marini nuzzled him, taking the oppourtunity to return the gesture, inwardly amazed that everything had worked out so well.

But even in his distracted, blissful state, Tanga also heard the noise, his head snapping up. "Yeah, I heard it," he said softly, moving to step in front of her, placing himself between her and whatever it was that had made a noise. "Who's there?" he called. "Simba? Nala?"

But even as Tanga spoke, he caught a brief glimpse of fur in the grass, and was able to recognise the spotted pattern the hyenas in the elephant Graveyard possessed. "Rini, stay back," he whispered, before stepping forward. "I know you're there, whoever you are!" he yelled as manacingly as he could manage. "Now come out!"

Shenzi scowled at Ed again when the two lion's attention was turned towards them. Well Ed had given away their postion, it was either 'now or never'. She walked out of the grass towards the two, followed by Banzai and Ed. "Sorry to pop in un-anounced." she said slyly, trying not to let Ed's laughter drive her nuts again. They continued to come closer, "What? don't you remember me?" Shenzi said as none of the two said anything, "I'm so offended..." she said with an evil grin.

Simba was getting bored. "I'm going to the top." he said as Nala gave him a questioning look, "to get a view." he said as if it was obvious and began climbing up.
