"We aren't love birds!" Kion sighed as he turned back to Mlezi. "Until our parents returned, we are alone. We still have to. We will show him the secret cave because he has the right to know." He just touched her paw gently and occasionally glance out of the cave. Waiting for the rest, wherever they might be.

Mlezi managed to giggle at the mentioning love birds by Idir despite her pain, then sighed. "Of course, as he is King… Still, it may have to wait until this leg's healed some." She pawed at it gently. "…I miss mother…"

She save a small smile, "It's quite alright if you have to go help the Lion Guard if something comes up and they need you."

The cub then thought back to a time when her father had visited her mother, when she had been a little younger.

"Everyone loves their mother, it's just nature. Your mother, what was she like? Kind & gracious, different from Scar? " Kion gave a yawn, "I'm glad the lion guard doesn't work much at night, so I'm free at this time...Now just the two of us." He said this, still holding her paws.

"She was wonderful, kind and generous…" The cub sighed, herself giving a yawn "Understanding… Kind of like the Queen here, I guess…"
Mlezi smiled but soon bore a rather bored expression, "She… truly did love Scar. It pained her to see him acting differently..."

[Braveheart]

"Now life is harsh when on your own. This cave is fascinating. Sometimes I wish I learn how to paint. Although it wasn't really due to Scar's fault, he still committed the crime." Kion said, putting his head in between his outstretched paws.

"Mother's taught me how to paint, perhaps later I can help teach you?" She offered, casting a glance at her leg before resting her chin on her crossed paws "I'd like to learn medicine later…"

Mlezi recalled something her mother once said, "Say, have you had any nightmares lately?"

"From Rafiki? I don't know, isn't painting supposed to be sacred kind of thing? Every picture tells a story, I need to know stories. Which I don't know many. Nightmares... occasionally I think? Sometimes from Scar.. sometimes when I go mad.." Kion sighed.

The cub shrugged, "To some, probably. But painting can be fun"

Mlezi's head perked up on his response, "Would.. you like to talk about it?"

"No. It's not everyone's burden but my own." Kion said.

Mlezi nodded, understanding "Well, if you ever change your mind I'm sure there's someone who will listen. Sometimes it helps to talk about these things." She rested her chin on her paws again, "I know I still have nightmares… mostly about Mother's death…"

"No one will listen except my grandfather Mufasa..." Kion admitted. "I see a different world."
