A Change of Plans [PRIVATE: AC & The Whistlerify]

Simba looked at Nala and marini as Nala posed her question, "Hmm, I dunno..." he admitted, only now noticing that his mother was indeed missing. He began wondering where could she have gone to at this time of the evening, after showing so much concern after that morning's accident. He became a little nervous when he got an idea of where his mother might have gone to. "You don't think..." he started, looking at Marini, who looked at him with a confused expression for a few seconds, before quickly getting up and running out of the nook.

-

As she heard her brother's first helpless sob, and then noticed Sarabi walk past her, seeming to not paying any attention to anything around her, Uhuru apprehensively walked out of the nook and once she noticed Sarabi didn't hear her, quickly ran outside and to Tanga's side. Her mind filled with terror as she just stood there and looked at Tanga, not even knowing whether he knew she was there, and that she saw everything

((it's just passed midnight in Bali, Indonesia...and I'm wide awake))

Nala's eyebrows shot up her forehead as Marini took off at Simba's words, as she too caught onto what he was suggesting. She did not leave, though, not wanting to leave Simba alone. "You don't think she'd...hurt him...do you?" she asked apprehensively, giving Simba a look that plainly said that, even without an answer, she was scared for Tanga. She knew she had been fairly angry at him this morning, but if Sarabi, as Simba's mother, was being protective, Nala knew there was almost no limit to what she would do.

----------

Sarabi quickly stalked back into her nook, curling up and looking out into the cave system just as Marini shot past. Ignoring her for now, she growled slightly in frustration at the day's events...and revelations, before placing her head on her paws and trying to rest...and cool off.

----------

Tanga, consumed by his terror and shock, just sobbed as quietly as he could manage. It took him a few moments to notice Uhuru's presence, and when he did, he thought, for a brief moment, that Sarabi had come back to hurt and threaten him some more.

With a terrified yell, Tanga leapt to his feet, and backed away from Uhuru, trying to put as much space between him and the perceived threat as much as possible. "No, please! Just leave me alone!" he yelled, before tripping over his own feet just as he registered the fact that it was Uhuru, and not Sarabi, in front of him.

Once more on the ground, and in a complete emotional wreck, Tanga just curled up into a tight, defensive ball, his sobs returning in full force as he realised he had just pushed away his own sister, when she was most likely just wondering what was wrong.

(( Wierd, usually you were asleep at this time, and now you feel awake =o I mean in my time you went to sleep 2 hours ago ))

Simba was quiet for a moment, hoping that what he was thinking about was not happening while he couldn't do anything. "I..." he began nervously. "...hope not."

-

Uhuru was taken aback a little, but him reacting with so much fear to her made her think that he might have thought that Sarabi was back to hit him again or something. She walked closer carefully and tried not to make any sudden moves as she approached Tanga with caution, trying to find the right words. "I... she began, "Kind of saw what just happend..." she finished, hoping Tanga would talk to her

Nala did not know what she could do...so just slipped closer to Simba, trying to help calm him down. "Marini will help out," she said with a little more confidence. "When has she ever failed to help Tanga out when he's had problems?"

But she was still worried. It had not been too long since Sarabi had left, but if she was confronting Tanga, how much could she have done in the little time she had?

----------

Tanga forced himself to stifle his shaking sobs, even if he could not stop them completely. "You...you s-saw?" he managed to say between heaving sobs, before nearly breakign down again, turning away from her in a vain, immature attempt to hide his fear. "I...for a...a moment t-there...I thought she...I thought she was going to kill me."

He once more turned his head, looking past Uhuru, towards the cave system. "What can I do? I'm not allowed anywhere near Simba again, which means I can't really stay here...I don't think I can face Sarabi again, anyway..."

Simba attempted to smile slightly when Nala cuddled close to his back, obviously to his back because of his broken paw. But how was Marini going to help Tanga if Sarabi was really trying to hurt him? Sarabi was an adult and she was only a teenager, and if Sarabi turned angry at her as-well... "Yeah, but what if mom's really..." he said, not wanting to say it.

-

Uhuru was still too confused to say the least. She didn't know what to say after seeing the former queen behave in such a way she'd never seen before. So far she thought Sarabi was a kind lioness, but now she was afraid of her, and hoped that she would have to be with her alone. She slightly feared that Sarabi might end up taking her anger out on her anger for Tanga on her if she got a chance to.

-

Marini came outside, looking around at the outside of the un-familliar exit when she noticed Tanga curled up, and realising that she was too slow and showed up after Sarabi left. Though she became confused when she also saw Uhuru; Did she see what happend? How didn't Sarabi see her, and where did Sarabi go? She quickly ran towards Tanga's cur;ed up from, "Tanga, what happend?" she cried, though she pretty much knew the answer when she noticed some blood drops on the side of his jaw and realised that Sarabi must have used her claws.

Nala sighed, but conceeded that Simba might have a point. "Do you think I should go check...just to make sure? Or do you want me to stay here?"

----------

Tanga uncurled in an instant at Marini's voice, jumping about a foot in the air. Even though it was just her and Uhuru at the moment, the presence of the two of them, so soon after Sarabi's threats against him, was starting to overwhelm him. Now on his feet, he backed away once more. "I-I-I..." he struggled to form words, his mind going into complete meltdown as the shock of the evening really started to hit him. "I can't...I can't stay here anymore," he finally said, in a tiny voice. "She's...if she ever sees me again..." he started looking around wildly, looking for some sort of escape, some private place away from everyone, including Marini and Uhuru, where he could just be alone, hide from the world, and cry out all his worries. "I have to...I have to get away...from her..."

His paniced, jitterry voice, and jumpy movements were making it all-too-clear that the confrontaion with Sarabi had scared him nearly out of his mind. He had just seen someone he had always looked up to as a mother completely turn against him...and he simply did not know what to do.

As Nala suggested going and checking, Simba began growing worried about her all of a sudden. Even though Sarabi would never harm Nala, he didn't want her to take this risk. "No, I mean... she's probably fine." he said, though he couldn't be sure

-

Marini couldn't bear this anymore. She couldn't just come and comfort Tanga everytime, and this time Sarabi seemed to have completly lost it, and she didn't seem to be willing to ever change her behaviour towards him. "How about..." she began, searching all over her mind for an idea. "How about we try moving into your parent's den?" she said, hoping that not sleeping in the same area as Sarabi might be a good start. "I'm sure Kali and Busara wouldn't mind." she added, and looked at Uhuru, who didn't say anything.

Nala sighed. "I hope so," she said softly. "She's been really protective of you lately, Simba. Even I'm getting a little scared of how she's looking at Tanga all the time now."

She stopped as a horrible thought occurred to her. "Oh, Great Kings! If Sarabi keeps this up, considering how Tanga's like, he could very easily be driven away!"

----------

The shock of his confrontation with Sarabi was finally starting to wear off for Tanga, but he was still very thoroughly shaken. "I...I don't know," he finally said, his mind completely blank. "I just...I don't know what to do."

He rubbed the scratches Sarabi had left on his cheek as he tried to think on things. He wanted to run off, and get some time alone still, and leave Uhuru to explain everything that had happened. But he didn't think that would be fair on his younger sister, since she seemed rather startled herself. "Look...Sarabi thinks...she thinks I hurt Simba deliberately, and if I ever go near him again, she...she'll...I think she'd actually kill me."

He finally sat down, his shaking frame nable to stay standing. "I'm scared...Sarabi will do anything to protect Simba...and she thinks I'm a threat to him. I just...I don't know how I'm supposed to keep living here when I risk getting killed every time I so much as look at Simba."

Simba tried to find some comfort by thr soft tone Nala was using, but without any success. He remembered the way she treated Tanga a few hours ago, and realised that it was probably just getting worse. "But what can we do?" he said, hopelessly staring at the wall and trying to come up with something. "We can't just convince her... She wouldn't listen, not even to me."

-

Marini shook her head, trying not to think about waking up one morning and finding out that Tanga ran away or even worse. "Look, let's try talking to your mom or dad first, alright?" she asked hopefully

Nala frowned at Simba's latest revelation. "Something's not right, Simba. If Sarabi's not listening to you, then something is very wrong with her. We need to..."

Her suggestion was lost, as her eyes widened. "Simba, I just realised something...I found a way to make Sarabi stop this!" She then paused, giving her plan a second thought even as it formed in her mind. "Although, to be honest...I don't think you're gonna like it much, and if it doesn't work, it could turn Sarabi against all of us for a very long time. It's risky, Simba...very risky."

----------

Tanga took a few deep breaths to steady himself, before slowly nodding. "Okay," he finally said, getting back to his feet, although he was still shaking. "Okay, I'll just...head to their den and wait for them there. If you don't mind though, I'd like a minute alone first, if mum and dad aren't there yet...okay?"
