A Look In My Eyes

Bandhura shifted in her sleep and her honey colored eyes slowly opened, "Craig..is everything okay?" she said in a whisper. She looked outside and it was still dark out, "Did you have a bad dream?" she said softly smiling. Her gaze stayed on him and she sighed once more.

No it is not okay. I had a nightmare. I...it hurts to be around you again. Do you understand? I am sorry but I am just telling the truth. You look just like your mom. That is why it hurts.

Bandhura frowned and her eyes glanced at Craig, ”I..uh…I didn’t know I looked like my mother.” she whispered. She let out a heavy sigh and looked at the den floor, ”I’m not mad anymore eventually you need to let it go. I know she’s watching over me.” she added.

That is the thing. I can't let it go. Why do you think all of this stuff is happening to me? It is my punishment. And I admit I deserve it! Craig then looked down not really sure if he wanted to go back to sleep. He didn't want to experience the nightmare again.

Bandhura listened to the pain in his voice and she winced feeling bad, "I..I don't know. I’m sorry you can’t forget it..but I haven’t been able to either." she admitted softly. Her yellow eyes gazed outside the den and she noticed a flash of lighting and a loud crack of thunder. She crept towards the entrance and saw the water fall from the sky, it rained hard.

Well let me go to sleep now. I am so sorry. I...uh I did deserve what I got. Craig then fell back to sleep. He hoped there was no nightmare.

Bandhura crossed her paws and let out a deep sigh, she rested her snout upon them. Her honey colored eyes watched the rain fall onto the forest floor. She could tell it was going to be a long night and the rain would cause some damages by the time she woke up.

Craig woke up the next day feeling a little better. He felt like he could stand finally but his legs still ached. Just then he heard something. He heard a gun loading. He shaked Bandhura. Get up! Run! I will hold off the hunter. Craig then ran forward and just like he knew it he was hit in the leg with the shot. He then heard hunting dogs.

Bandhura opened her eyes to stare at Craig as she heard the gunshots, “Oh no..” she said jumping up and following Craig. She could hear the dogs farther ahead then the hunter. Her yellow eyes peered into the foreat and her ears fell back to her head tightly as she could hear them getting closer. She panicked and nudged Craig, “Get up..Go..I’ll hold off the dogs.” She said giving him a stern look. ”Go..I will f ind you..”

No! You run! I will hold them off! If this is my punishment then so be it! Craig then ran toward the dog sounds. He then saw the dogs and they jumped on him. He flung them off and was ready for anything. He then heard a reload of the gun.
