Revenge - Shadowfax and Tsuki [Private]

"I see" Vex said, watching Zuberi closely.

Though Vex was young, she was wise beyond her years. Yet there was still the cub curiosity in the young adolescent. Vex leapt up onto a boulder to look behind them for followers. Luckily, Sarafinas party had headed off back to priderock so their scents would now be undetectable. Pleased with her discovery she leapt down from the rock, nearly landing on Zuberi.

"The jungle is ok really. You just need to be careful of the leopards, but mother killed some during her time here" Vex said.

Nova was a little way ahead of them now looking intently ahead as the greenery began to appear on the horizon.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi jumped out the way and hissed in annoyance as Vex almost landed on him. He was a small and delicate cat. All Cheetahs are. So if he had been landed on, then it would have been bye bye Zuberi.

He also looked over his shoulder, back towards the pride lands. Would they notice Vex had gone missing? Would they be suspicious? Would it be worth telling Vex to go back? But then would they interrogate her? He sighed. This was difficult. They had to reach the jungle soon though Zuberi was still unsure about it. He took a step forward and out of the long grass, a guinea fowl erupted into the air making a load clucking noise and causing Zuberi to jump back knocking into Vex. He hissed in annoyance.

"That's obviously going to attract attention".

"Don't worry too much. The pride landers rarely come out this far and like i've said, the hunting part have already headed back to pride rock. No doubt the king is hungry" Vex said with a sigh.

"That fat cat never does anything. He's an unworthy king and will soon be off the throne" Nova called back, ignoring the guinea fowl which was now squawking above them.

Vex nodded, but didn't argue back. She wasn't one for the politics of the pride, she just wanted her mother to settle down and live rather than be driven by hate.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi watched the Guinea fowl fly off and frowned.

"It's not the pride landers that worry me now. We are in new territory. We have no idea what is out here. We need to be careful until we reach the jungle where we can hide. Even out here we don't want to attract too much attention."

He looked over at Nova.

"You said the Hyenas abadoned the old king. Maybe they are out here. We just don't know and...."

He was cut off as there was a roll of thunder in the distance. Zuberi shuddered and hunched his shoulders.

"Oh great" Nova complained as she heard the thunder in the distance.

Thunder meant rain and she didn't want to get caught out in it. They would have to make it to the jungle in time so they could shelter. Nova hated rain and Vex wasn't too keen either.

"Oh, the hyenas don't come this way. They live back that way too" Vex said hearing Zuberi's concern.

Nova was the first to reach the tree line and looked back at the others.

"Come on. We can shelter in here before the rain comes"

[Tsuki]

Zuberi hissed as another roll of thunder sounded. He hated rain. Like most cats. He looked back at Vex as she explained about the Hyenas. Well that was one less thing to worry about. But if the wet season was now officially here, then that could cause problems. That may mean they would have to hide away in the Jungle until it passes. The first drops of rain began to fall and Zuberi raced towards the tree line. When he got there he shook his paws.

"Now what? If the wet season is here it will delay us."

Nova shook the water from her fur. She herself didn't mind water and used to swim in the water hole in the pridelands. Another reason the lionesses disowned her. She looked from Zuberi to Vex. She could tell if they were nearing their limits so they needed to find somewhere to rest. She looked to the sky. She sighed and looked down at them.

"Worried about a little rain are we?" She teased.

"No mother, but you know that walking through wet terrain is dangerous. Plus, I doubt Zuberi would be able to use his speed on soft slippery grass" Vex said with a hint of sensibleness.

"It's not the rainy season yet. It's just a shower" Nova said with a tut.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi sat down and hunched his shoulders, flicking his ear to dislodge a rain drop. He looked miserable. He hated rain at the best of times but when he was with his adopted brothers, at least they had the bush to protect them. He almost seemed to miss them now this wet weather was here. And though he didn't want to admit it, Vex was right. It would be difficult for him to run when the ground was wet and he didn't want to cause an injury. He sighed and raised his head to look out over the landscape. For the first time in a long time he missed his mother and his adopted brothers.

Vex looked up in time to get a drop of rain land on her nose. Violently she shook her head as the contact made her feel uncomfortable. Nova on the other hand seemed to be quite content in this weather and lay on her side.

"It's the best shelter we'll get unless you both want to go walking in the rain" Nova said looking at both the confused cats. "It's only water"

Vex sighed at that.

"Doesn't mean we have to like it" She muttered.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi hissed in annoyance as another rain drop fell on his ear and he flicked it away. He didn't like this weather. Not only because it was uncomfortable but it remained him of home and curling up with his adopted brothers. When it rained they would curl up together and tell each other stories.

"Tell me a story." he said quietly.

His eyes then widened in shock and he looked away embaressed. He didn't want Nova or Vex to think he was getting soft or that he was afraid. It had just been a slip.
