[Open] Ahadi and Uru's Reign

Ahadi laid down next her, admiring her for a few long moments before falling asleep himself.

After a peacful night of rest, whilst being extremly careful not to awake her mate, Uru nudged Uzuri and a couple of the other lionesses awake before leaving the cave, signalling for them to follow.

Uzuri smiled at her friend. "What are we doing, Uru?" she asked.

[FlamingBee]

"Hunting of course? Early bird catches the worm... So maybe the early lion can catch something bigger!?" She grinned before heading down into the savannah.

Uzuri smiled. "Yes. Perhaps a buffalo or something," she said, fantasizing about catching one of the dangerous bovines.

Uru was glad she'd gotten away before Ahadi could stop her; she knew perfectly well she could still hunt for now. She opened her mouth, drowning her taste buds with the scents of the pridelands. She tried to focus in on one she knew well; wildebeest mixed with zebra. The perfect prey. She flicked her tail for the lionesses to follow her before padding off to lead the way.

Uzuri followed Uru as best she could until it was time to get into position. Their prey was just ahead of them.

Uru was leading the hunt, as a queen should, signalling with her ears to position the other lionesses. It would be her job to bring the beast down with the first pounce; the most experienced lioness made the death blow.

Uzuri waited patiently until Uru was ready. She was ready for the hunt to begin.

Uru selected one particular straggling herd member; it seemed to be an elderly wildebeest, but it was plump and in good health, a tough option; Uru couldn't deny she liked a challenge. She crept slowly closer and closer, and then leapt on the wildebeest's back; almost instantly, the prey dropped to the ground on top of her and rolled. She felt herself grow light-headed as the animal half smothered her...
