[Closed] Pride's Folly

Sarabi was unsure if this was true or not, but she decided to let it be. Very well then, I suppose I'll go to drink there. she told them. Sarabi wasn't thirsty, but she wanted to check out of what Chuki said was true. It was hard to trust anyone during Scar's reign, but everyone was slowly recovering from that since Simba, her son, became the king. She slowly climbed down Pride Rock, even through it was hard to her to climb up and down because of her age. He paws were weak and beaten up, and the lack of food and water during Scar's reign made it worse. After climbing down, she started walking towards the waterhole to see if everything was true.

Kura noticed that Chuki was really nervous as she as she encountered her, but she didn't wonder why. For some reason all the members of the pride kept their distance from her because of her parents. But that didn't bother her much, she was used to it. What happened? she asked with a calm voice. She was still not used to Simba's ruling, since she was born during Scar's reign. She never knew was peace, grass and kindness meant. She thought it was an argument about Simba's ruling. She waited for one of the lionesses to answer her.

Zira’s eyes narrowed as Sarabi dismissed them and she looked to Chuki, “Be Careful Chuki. They don’t take kindly to lionesses sneaking around, you know. Wouldn’t want Simba to catch you...” She sneered lightly. Zira made her way towards the lower level of Pride rock and lay down to her belly. The Chilly rock made her shiver and her amber eyes gazed over the plains. As she stared off into the distance she couldn’t help but let her mind wander back in time.


Scar’s gone…Now I’m stuck at the bottom of the food chain again…While Sarabi and those other pathetic fools lay all cozy in their big cave, eating there fill.” she thought to herself annoyed. Her ears went back and a smug look crossed her face, What is to become of me now…Now that Simba..is King…I need to be careful...” she thought once more. Lifting her forepaw she brought out her claws and stared down at them, “I need to think of something..” she mumbled out loud. Her tail flickered by her side as she scratched her claws over the rock sharpening them, for revenge.

Chuki shivered a little at the veiled contempt Zira displayed. She was left somewhat confused by Zira first helping her out of a tight situation and then turning on her with a sneer. Then again, she almost felt more comfortable being sneered at, it was more typical from Zira. She got it all the time from Scar, where her best efforts were never enough to please him, and she was just constantly beaten down. She hadn't expected much more from Zira now that Scar was gone. Chuki just hoped that Simba could bring Zira under control before it got out of hand.

As Zira moved off though, Chuki did her best to address Kura's question, despite not feeling entirely comfortable around her. She did her best to smooth the situation over; the less big a deal was made of her little stroll the better.

"Nothing really." Chuki said, still a bit flustered, but quickly getting back in control of her emotions. "I was just out early and Sarabi was curious why."

Nala glanced down to her loving mate and knew he wasn't going to wake up anytime soon. Keeping a full on smile, she leaned down and delightedly gave her mate another affectionate nuzzle before moving up on all fours. Her slender, attractive, lean form arched a little for a much needed stretch. Gazing towards the entrance with her malachite colored eyes, Nala padded over to their main entry and peered out of it just a little. She took notice of a few familiar furry faces and smiled more effulgent as she exited Pride Rock.

With the morning sun constantly beating down on Pride Rock, Nala already felt desirous and hungry. She knew a hunt needed to be done today due to their supply of food running short. Despite this, Nala padded over near the peak of Pride Rock and took a seat, monitoring the Pride Lands to make sure things were going okay.

Satisfied for a moment Zira heard a low grumble from her stomach, “Hmm..let’s see what the lionesses want to do about food.” she spoke coldly. Lifting her body up to her paws she stretched forward a bit before climbing back up Pride Rock. As she stepped from the back of the dens Zira saw Nala towards the edge of the rock, a sly smirk crossed her features and she slinked closer.

She pulled out her claws and moved closer to Nala, then with a quick glance to the side she noticed the other lionesses still around. Retracting her claws she stepped past Nala towards the other side of Pride Rock, she gazed out towards the elephant grave yard. The dark diminished land still lion less, only inhabited by hyenas and other gruesome creatures.

Her tail flickered by her side slightly annoyed and she noticed a dark lioness running towards Pride Rock, her eyes narrowed at this newcomer. “Why Nala..Come Look. It seems we have a visitor..” she said out loud and lifted her forepaw pointing. Zira studied the outlook of this new lioness and she seemed to be different than the others, an idea slipped into Zira's mind and she grinned evily.

As Sole’ approached Pride Rock her green eyes gazed up at the large formation, she then noticed lionesses scattered all over it. Her green eyes stared hard as a single paw was pointed towards her and she hoped they didn’t plan on attacking, opening her muzzle she let out a roar. She let everyone know she was there, the last thing she wanted them to think was that she was being sneaky around there lands.

Sole’ noticed the regular coloring of the other lionesses and she gazed down at her own ebony colored pelt and grey paws, a sigh escaped her. “What if they don’t like me?” thoughts swirling through her mind, she looked up. She reclined back to her hinds and waited patiently, her tail flickering by her side slowly anticipating the others.

Nala remained stationary as her emerald like eyes scanned around the Pride Lands. Things were looking pretty good and most of the animals that were elsewhere were beginning to show up and inhabit these wonderful lands again. Bountiful amounts of grass and plants were beginning to show up, making things more industrious. Keeping to herself, Nala wasn't aware that Zira was sneaking up on her and by the time Zira showed up, Nala briefly exchanged looks with Zira and felt really uncomfortable. There was something about Zira that made Nala flutter. Minding her own business, Nala listened closely to what Zira was saying and moved up on all fours. Her attractive frame glimmered in the sunlight as her cream colored pelt flowed swiftly in the direction of the wind.

Stopping just a few paces from Zira, Nala glanced over to spot a new lioness. She wasn't enlightened of a new lioness showing up and wondered what brought them to Pride Rock. Curious, Nala stepped forward and presented herself.

"Excuse me, I'm Nala. Queen of these lands and I was wondering what brought you here?" She asked compassionately, pasting a warm smile on her ebony muzzle lips.

Away at the edge of the graveyard, the late adolescent, Kivuli was returning home. He enjoyed spending time in the graveyard. Even though several months ago he trained there to kill Scar and the memories were quite strong, it was still a fun place to explore. Every once in a while a stray hyena popped up, giving Kivuli some fun by chasing it.

Kivuli had been away for a few days. He was surprised no one bothered looking for him. Mind you he was a very able lion for his age. He was already the size of a full grown adult, and almost as strong. As the wind blew past with a cooling breeze Kivuli quick set off to make his way to Priderock and get some real rest, and some food

Zira watched as Nala stepped by her and her amber eyes narrowed irritated with the young queen. Putting on a smug look she gazed down on the new lioness and watching Nala’s reaction she could only smile. “Seems...we aren’t too keen on newcomers..” she thought to herself. She reclined back to her hinds and watched the conversation eagerly, preparing to befriend this new colored lioness.

Sole’s green eyes flickered as a lioness made herself visible and spoke towards her, her ears listened closely. She dipped her head, “I’m Sole’, queen Nala. I’ve traveled far and wide looking to find a new Pride, I passed through that grave yard and a jungle to find these lands.” she stated smiling slightly.

She looked up and noticed Zira watching down on her and she wondered why the lioness was staring so hard, “If you don’t mind Nala, I’d like to join your pride.” she added dipping her head once more. Her tail flickered by her side and the ebony hued lioness gazed up at the hot sun, her color attracting heat.

Sarafina gazed pleasantly down at the newcomer. She knew that it was dangerous to bring too many members into the pride at one time, but she couldn't help but think of all the loyal pride members that were once outcasts just like this young lioness standing before them. She also remembered all the rogues that used their pride for food during tough times and then moved on. When it came down to it, she knew her daughter would make the right decision. Her stomach growled embarrassingly noisy. She could hunt by herself, but her experience on the hunt was important for the pride. She wasn't the strongest lioness anymore, and her bones ached after each hunt, but she was tactically one of the best huntresses. Shaking her head from the thought of food, she concentrated on the matter at hand.

Nala gazed down to the lioness before her and listened closely to what she was saying. Her fuzzy, creamy colored ears perked up partially from the words of joining this pride. Astounded by this, Nala wasn't sure how to make of this. She knew it wasn't entirely up to her and this matter should be dealt with all of the Pride members. Having an accord feeling for Sole', Nala glanced over to Zira and noticed how her gaze was much more piercing looking. Wondering what this is about, Nala kept to herself and examine visually on Sole'. To Nala's revulsion, the new lioness looked quite bad. Ranging from crummy fur, fatigue and lack of nourishment.

"It's really nice to meet you Sole'. I'm very sorry to see you in this shape and I'll have to discuss more matters of you joining with my pride. You're welcome to stay around for a little. I'll be right back." Nala smiled brightly and bowed her head with courtesy.

Exchanging one last look towards Sole', Nala padded over to Zira at a costive pace.

"I'm sorry for intruding into your business like this Zira. Do you think you can watch over Sole' for a little while till I get back? I need to discuss a few things with my mother." Nala said in a gentle tone, pasting another warm smile around her ebony muzzle lips as she made her way where her mother usually lounged around. She can probably guess her mother knew about this newcomer and wondered how to deal with such a task. Leisurely making padding along, Nala's attractive frame swayed from side to side as she spotted her mother not too far off.

"Hello mother, can I talk to you about something?" The young queen asked nervously. Nala wasn't use to newcomers coming around frequently and she hoped her mother can shed some light on this matter seeing how she had more experience around this area.
