Halali had just gotten settled in with his family at their sanctuary when the face he least wanted to see in this moment of peace and family appeared. It was Baka, and she wasn't wasting time with introductions. Halali was forced to twist himself out of her attacking path. He was stunned that she'd managed to penetrate into his private den, but this didn't stop him from immediately working to gain control of the situation.
"Bakira, take the cubs!" he shouted, and his voice was that of a king and warrior. "Mother, get behind her!"
He knew that his mate wasn't one to enjoy fighting, but he could always count on his mother's fierce strength, especially in defending her loved ones. Halali stood between Baka and the den's exit, preventing her escape, and he trusted that Vitani, not being a slow lioness on the uptake by any means, was already in position. They had Baka surrounded; she couldn't attack without opening herself to a devastating counterattack from the lion at her rear.
"You're outnumbered little sis, and you could never match me in a fight anyway." Halali growled menacingly. "You leave now, and never set foot in the waterlands again, or else we make sure that you'll never threaten us again."
Halali no longer felt any ties to his old sister. Throughout their childhood they'd always been more enemies than friends. He wouldn't stop at anything to defend his future pride.
