Muroki was surprised that Delano was actually waiting for him this time. Usually whenever his brother would challenge him to a race he would take off before Muroki even got ready. "Yeah, let's do it." he said with a smirk, crouching and getting ready as well.

(( We can skip to the end of the race if you want. I don't care which one of them wins / a tie. What ever you want. ))

Delano took off, with Muroki right next to him. They raced together, but got to the top at the same time. Delano lay down, panting, letting the wind cooled him down. "Oh man, that was fun!" He said in between breaths. Looking around, he was astonished by the view. "Just look at that! Can you believe that the ground is so... huge?"

Muroki also lay down to calm down, but before he could comment and agree with his brother that he had also enjoyed the race, his gaze fixed on the view. "Wow..." now he felt even more stupid for never climbing up the hill before. "This really is amazing!" he fell silent and did nothing else but stare at the scenery.

Delano looked around. He never knew that the area was so large. He could see more ground than he ever bothered to walk across. "There's a whole world out there..." He said slowly. "It's amazing."

The wind briefly stopped and Delano felt the heat of the sun hit his back. Grunting, he looked up, and frowned when he saw how much the sun had moved across the sky. Getting up slowly, he said, "We need to get moving. It will get dark soon." He didn't realize how much time the climb took.

Muroki said nothing to his brother's first statement. [i]'Yeah, a whole world out there."[/b] he sighed. Sooner or later he and his brother would have to go out there. He hoped that they would at least be able to go together. He then also noticed that the sun was already starting to set. "You're right, let's get moving." at least going down the hill would take less time than it took to climb it.

Delano started walking down, still looking around at the view. Seeing the places he was familiar with from up here was... enlightening. "We'll have to do this again sometime," he told Muroki.

The two of them walked down, much faster than on the way up. But despite that, it was already dark when they got to the bottom. "You know..." Delano said, "Hopefully, our parents wouldn't be too angry at us for being late." He didn't realize that the climb would take as long as it did. He hoped to be back down by sunset, but they were already late for that. "Oh, and this was my idea." He said. And it was: he did suggest that they go up.


The two of them picked up the pace and ran home, trying to make up for lost time.

Muroki looked at his brother and nodded as they walked down the hill. "Yeah, definitely again." he doubted their parents would be mad, "Don't worry, if they do get mad I wont say it was only your idea." he smiled. The two soon arrived to their family's small den. Muroki walked inside but could see nobody. "Um..." he looked around at his brother, "Maybe they went looking for us?" maybe this one time their parents did get worried.

(( I say they start looking and then find them dead or something. Could you describe what they see? It was your idea that they are found dead so I htink it's up to you so that it looks like "bad luck" or what ever you want to call it. ))

Delano walked inside the den, feeling nervous. But when he didn't see anyone inside, his nervousness began to be replaced by fear. "Mom? Dad?" He called out, but didn't receive any answer. He sniffed the air, sensing something strange. "I don't like this," he told Muroki. "Something isn't right."

He leaned closer to the ground, smelling an unfamiliar scent. "Something is definitely not right," he muttered. And he didn't like it.

With the den empty, Delano followed the strange scent, Muroki close behind him. "Maybe mom and dad are indeed looking for us," he said, "but what can explain the strange scent?" He followed it out into the open savanna, growing more worried by the minute. Out of the darkness, he made out two shapes that looked a lot like lions. He trotted over, hopeful. It might be them...

And it was.

Delano and Muriko ran over to their parents, only to stop dead in their tracks. "No..." Delano breathed out, feeling like his hear was shattered. It was indeed their parents. And they were both dead.

Muroki sighed before following his brother. He too felt like something was not right, and he was saying that in his point of view their parents were looking for them just to calm himself down. "I don't know Delano, this scent really is weird..." it smelled similar to their parents' scent, but there was also something else, but what? Muroki was as concerned as his brother was if not ten times more.

When Muroki saw their parents he couldn't even gasp. They looked as if they were... dead? No, they can't be dead. Muroki just never imagined such a thing would ever happen to them. "No, no they're not dead!" he said, walking over to the two bodies and nudging them, "They're just..." he nudged them again, "No, they're sleeping!" he nudged them even harder. "They're sleeping, out of the den and with a strange scent. What makes you think they're dead?!" he felt tears climbing to his eyes. Even if they were asleep, which didn't seem to make sense, they would have already woken up from all the nudging.

Tears straining down his eyes, Delano felt like he couldn't breath. "The're dead! They are not breathing!" He tried to pry Muroki away from their dead parent's bodies, but he didn't have the strength to. "They're gone! Get it? Gone!" He cried. As if to prove it, he gave a hard push at one of them. The body just flopped over, lifeless.

Delano couldn't believe it. In just a few moments, his world was shattered. He looked at their bodies, and something caught his eye. On his father's neck, two small red dots of blood covered the fur. He examined it. "It's... it's a snake bite." He concluded. "A snake killed them." He stopped, confused. "But they know ho to avoid snakes!" He shouted angrily. "This is wrong! It's all wrong!" And in his mind, he hoped that he was dreaming.
