[Open] When All Seems Lost....

Kopa jumped back, his hackles raised and snarling. "Get off me!" he barked. "And who are you?!" He spun around to face Kovu. "You're mistaken, fool. I am the only cub and sole heir of these lands!" He brought himself to full height, standing about a paw taller than Kovu.

"Your Kopa aren't you!?" Kiara said, "I'm Kiara your sister!" She said. "And I'm Kovu your brother in law." Kovu said walking closer to Kopa.
"Kopa you are not the only cub. I am your sister!" Kiara shouted trying to get it through Kopa's thick skull.

[Nitro]

"As if," Kopa scoffed, his thoughts whirling. Sister?!

"Yes Kopa." Kiara said. "Simba and Nala are our parents, Mufasa and Sarabi are our grandparents and then Ahadi and Uru and before them was King Mohatu. See I know our family tree." Kiara said trying to prove herself.

Kalifa watched, hoping the lions wouldn't fight. She inspected Kopa closely, pondering about him. She realized she was his niece, and wondered if he would stay or not. He seemed determined to be acknowledged as the true king. Kalifa suspected that would be a problem later. The cub pressed closer to Kiara, still quite nervous.

Runako stared in surprise. He had heard of the lost prince Kopa, and now he had returned. Runako backed away a bit, his thoughts whirling. This lion would certainly cause a problem if he stayed....but wasn't Kovu's position rightfully Kopa's? Runako's tail flicked back and forth in aggravation. He stayed in the back, just listening to the adults talk.

The young cub looked up at the surprised intruder. "Dad, I don't think he's Kopa. I've just got a feeling in my gut." he stated simply. "Can I kill him now?" he added in a whisper.

Kovu looked down at his son, "No. If your mother thinks it's Kopa it's Kopa." Kovu said sternly before nudging Kiara with his paw.
Kiara looked at Kopa and then at her cub, "I know it's Kopa."
She looked at Kopa, "And excuse me but Kovu is our King and I am the queen and not even my own brother will change that!" Kiara said loudly and sternly.

Kopa rolled his eyes. "The Great Kings approved my inheritance at birth as I was anointed and presented to the entire kingdom," he said scathingly. "You are simply a secondborn and he cannot be king for he has no royal blood."

Runako shivered slightly. What could this cause? Both lions had points. But really....Kopa should be the King..... Runako's tail lashed. He tried to calm, but worry for his Pride bubbled inside him. He sat down, looking rather blank, but his thoughts were centered on the newcomer--Kopa, and his want for the throne.

Kalifa snorted softly at her brother--as if he could even scratch the stranger. She stared around, feeling unsure. "Mother, make him leave." She mewed, pawing at Kiara. "He isn't nice to you or Father." She huddled closer to her parents, anger for them rising inside her. She really didn't like this lion, this Kopa.

Kovu stood tall and looked at Kopa, Kiara looked at Kovu and then back at Kalifa. "Kopa you left and that means you gave up all your chances to be king. If you really wanted to be king you would have never left our pride. So I suggest you leave. Now." Kiara said sternly trying to prove Kopa wrong.
Kovu stared at Kopa and waited for him to turn around and leave.
