"No..." Vitani replied in response to Baya's question about whether or not Zira ever confronted her about her relationship with him. The knowledge that her own mother, evil as she was, had used Baya's desire for her to her own advantage enraged Vitani to no end.

"I'm...sorry my mother took advantage of your emotions like that, Baya....If you don't mind me asking...what would you have done for her in order to be able to have me?" she asked, genuinely curious as to the extent of Baya's feelings for her.

Baya cackled. "I would hardly have called it a displeasure. She wanted me to help Kovu kill Simba if need be, but that plan went right down the drain when she started going mad." he muttered silently. He sighed silently. "You shouldn't be sorry. I'm not. I've never been." Baya muttered silently as he looked to the clouds beginning to form. They were dark and made quiet rumblings.

"Seems like a small storm is coming." Baya said silently, giving Vitani a gentle nuzzle. "Let me ask you something. Did you ever consider just admitting it like you did today? Alot could've been avoided. Stupid move. REALLY stupid move." Baya smirked.

Vitani giggled girlishly at essentially everything Baya said. "Yeah..." was the only reply she could muster in response to Baya's suggestion that she should have expressed herself earlier regarding her feelings towards him. She nuzzled his chest again and looked up at his face.

After noticing that Baya's attention was fixed upon the gathering storm clouds, Vitani seized the opportunity. "It looks as if a storm is coming. Do you think we should...head for one of the dens nearby?" she asked Baya suggestively. Hoping he would take the hint, she extracted herself from his embrace and began to make her way towards one of the dens she mentioned, which was visible in the distance. After a few steps, she stopped dead in her tracks and looked back at the lion she loved and smiled, waiting for him.

Baya didn't know why Vitani wanted to take shelter so soon, but he figured he should follow. He trotted after her after a few seconds of hesitation, looking to her every now and again. He chuckled when he took in her features. "Your eyes are beautiful, you know." Baya muttered silently. They slowly began to approach one of the dens as a clap of thunder rolled in the clouds.

Vitani bit her bottom lip and stifled a giggle in response to Baya's compliment. Such genuine compliments were exceedingly rare coming from Baya. She knew that this was evidence that she was having a true effect on him, and she relished in that that as they made their way towards the den. Outside the entrance, as the first raindrops began to fall, they both stopped in their tracks and faced each other, standing toe-to-toe. They stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds as the rain began to gradually pick up speed and intensity. The entire time, Vitani smiled at Baya warmly. After standing in the rain for a bit, Vitani made her way through the entrance to the den, walked slowly towards the center of the interior, turned around to face Baya once again, and lay down on her stomach. She flashed a come-hither kind of smile towards Baya, still standing in the rain, which was beginning to soak his mane and the rest of his fur.

He entered the den, and dried himself off before looking down to Vitani for a moment. Right now she seemed alot more beautiful than she usually did.

// TIME SKIP //

Baya awoke when the sun shone through the den, his head being laid upon Vitani's. "Eh. Wake up. We fell asleep." Baya murmured to her, before roughly tugging her ear for her to wake up.

Vitani's eyes fluttered open. She was so sore she could barely move. She moaned and opened her eyes, at the same time trying to discern what time it was outside, considering the wedding was scheduled for dusk. She looked into Baya's eyes and smiled weakly, and licked his cheek before nuzzling it softly.

"Thank you, Baya..." Vitani whispered appreciatively, as she began to grin and purr. At this point, she didn't even care if the wedding took place without her. All that mattered was that she and Baya were finally together.

"Thank me for what?" Baya asked with a smirk as he gave her head a lick. "I'm only doing my duty." he added as he slowly stood, and stretched. He buried his head into her neck for a moment, feeling more connected to her now than he ever was. "Best we make our way to your brother's wedding. After all, you were all up tight about it earlier." Baya urged her with a nudge of his paw. With that he exited the den, his eyes resistant to the glare of the sun.
