--Next Morning--

The sun was barely peaking over the horizon and Sarafina was already up and making her moves out of the den. Giving her aging mother a nuzzle she padded towards Topas's den, she smiled. Slowly entering his den she nuzzled his mane, "Topas.....wake up." she whispered softly towards his furry ear. She reclined back to her hinds by his side and her green eyes stared down at him. Lifting her paw she pressed it against his sleeping body and gave him a soft shake. "Get up.." she growled.


Uru lifted her head and smiled as the orange rays flickered into their den, "Ahadi..." she whispered softly in his ear. Deciding not to move just yet she gave his muzzle a soft lick. She rubbed her face along his letting out a deep purr, "Today is the day.." she cooed softly.

When Topas woke up, he felt as though the ground beneath him was moving. Then he realized that it was someone pushing him hard to wake up. Sarafina, most likely. "Alright, I'm up!" He mumbled before opening his eyes. Letting out a loud yawn, he got up slowly, and sure enough, there was Sarafina, looking quite mad at him. "What? Can't a guy get some sleep?" He asked, feeling angry at her in turn for waking him up. He looked outside. "The sun's not even up yet!" Waking up in the early morning was something he did as a rogue, not as a member of a pride.


Unlike Topas, Ahadi woke up much better. He felt Uru's lick and woke up smiling. "Morning, Uru," he said, and lifted his head up. But just becasue he got up didn't mean that he was fully awake. As his mind lowly ticked, he simply blinked stupidly. "Today's what day?" He asked, not believing that he forgot something important.

Sarafina rolled her green eyes at Topas and she gave his cheek a small nuzzle before blushing slightly. "The hunting party is this morning, its a big day for Sarabi and I." she spoke softly. Seeing Topas not make any effort to get up Sarafina frowned as she walked towards the entrance of the den, "I have to go catch up with the lionesses...hopefully you'll come." she added quickly disappearing into the early morning light.

Uru was already gathered at the base of Pride rock talking with the lionesses as she noticed Sarafina make her way over and the Queen nodded. Turning to Sarabi and Sarafina she smiled proudly, "Well girls today is the day. Sarabi lead the way and when the Pride splits to move in on the herd Sarafina you are second in command." she added softly before giving the two lionesses a nuzzle of encouragement. Uru quickly bounded back up to Ahadi's side at the tip of Pride rock and she watched the lionesses get ready.

Turning to Ahadi she licked his cheek, "Well...there they go. Where is Mufasa and Topas?" she asked curiously raising an eyebrow.

Sarafina smiled and her green eyes gazed at her bestfriend, "Lead the way Sarabi. Also I heard the wildeebeest are by the gorge...seems like a prize winning feast for the Pride." she said with a grin. Sarafina looked to the other lionesses and their own faces lit up at the sound of wildeebeest, they were harder to get but the meat was rich and tasty.

Mufasa groggily yawned and slowly approached his parents from behind, he let out a snort at his mother's question. "I am here supporting Sarabi.." he muttered. Relaxing back to his hinds Mufasa's brown eyes looked down at Sarabi and he mouthed the words, 'be careful'.

Topas heard Sarafina walk away, somewhat glad that he was left alone again, but also slightly hurt by Sarafina's tone as she left. She sounded somewhat angry with him. As he lay in the den, Topas tried to remember what would cause her to get angry with him for not getting up. He thought about what she had just told him when it hit him. Quickly rising up in panic, Topas realized that it was Sarabi's and Sarafina's first hunt as leaders. No wonder Sarafina wanted him to get up! Quickly leaving the den, Topas ran as fast as he could to the base of Priderock.

Reaching Mufasa and the rest, Topas stopped, feeling foolish. "Hey guys! I hope I'm not tool ate!" He panted out. Next to him, Mufasa gave him a slight smirk. He looked down at the hunting part and quickly spotted Sarafina. She soon spotted him as well, and he gave her a small wave.

Sarabi was grinning from ear to ear, eager to start the hunt. As much as she loathed to admit it, but Sarafina was a better hunter than her. But with both of them working together to lead their teams, they would be unstoppable. Quickly looking up at the base of Priderock, Sarabi saw Mufasa next to Ahadi and Uru. She smiled, knowing that he was going to watch her on her first hunt as a leader of the group.

"Are you ready to do this?" She asked Sarafina, but could tell that her friend was just as eager as she was.

Ahadi noticed Topas arrive, and tried not to laugh at the lion's expression. "No, you're not late yet," he replied. With everyone around, there was no point in waiting any longer. He nodded at the hunting group down below. "You may start when you're ready," he said, "good luck."
