Private RP: Life ain't Easy [Baya & Songo]

Postby Baya » September 29th, 2011, 1:33 am

The outlands, dead and barren, almost hollow and devoid completely of life. Simba saw it fit that Zira and her supporters be banished here, as it reflected how twisted their ideology and mind sets were. Zira found it difficult at first, but she noticed something. It fueled the pride's hatred for Simba. The lack of food, water and safety was something that drove these lionesses mad. Instead of blaming Zira for not being able to provide, they blamed Simba for banishing them.

Using their hatred, Zira convinced the other lionesses of a plan to overthrow Simba and take the pridelands for themselves once more. Zira pointed out that the key to this plan was none other than her son, Kovu, who was only a few weeks old at the time. Things were seemingly going as planned until her little Kovu was caught playing with little princess Kiara. From there, Zira developed a concrete plan. To train Kovu to be an assassin, and to send him into the pridelands seeking mercy from Simba. From there, he could easily get close and kill him! Then Kovu would rule supreme, in Scar's place and the suffering of the outlanders would end!

With the development of this plan, came other changes to the outlander pride. For one, several rogues decided to join their cause; one in particular drawing her attention. He wasn't too much older than Vitani, but he was very aggressive. Aggressive and easily manipulated. Zira offered him shelter in her pride, and to teach him how to fight in exchange for his undying loyalty. He agreed, knowing that he would be killed if he refused. Though the look in his eye suggested he wouldn't go down without taking an eye or Zira's other ear.

His name was Baya, and he seemed to have built a bit of a bond with Vitani over the past few days. At first, he was hesitant of speaking with anyone except her and even then he spoke simple and coldly. Zira noticed that the two tended to fight alot more than regular cubs would, and it pleased her to see Baya's enthusiasm for battle, while at the same time Vitani was honing her skills from such a young age.

There were two other rogues, one by the name of Ayari and the other by the name of Songo. Ayari was a pale furred, and blonde maned lion with a very scrawny appearance. Though, it was clear that he was able and willing to fight for her side, if it meant bringing the pride landers to justice. Such a miserable word that was. Justice.

The last, was Songo. She was simply a young lioness dragging across the desert in need of food and water; which Zira gladly offered in her future for years to come. Since she was still young, it meant that it was possible for her to get some training too. It was clear, that Zira's power was growing and that Simba's fate was sealed.

On this particular morning, Nuka was sitting outside with Vitani, whom was tugging at the same tree branch she normally was. "Pfft. Stupid termite Kovu gets all the food...get's all the attention...EVERYTHING!" Nuka growled as he itched his shoulder roughly. He looked to Vitani with a slight snort. "You know that ain't gonna make you any stronger Tani. It's just gonna whip you in the face and maybe build some pain tolerance." Nuka pointed out with a smirk. At that instant, the branch was let go and whipped HIM on the nose.

"Ow! You little -" Nuka growled as he rubbed his nose. He sighed. "So what's up with you and that new creepy Baya? Whenever I talk to him, he just ignores me...pfft...stupid termite..." Nuka snorted. If there was one thing he didn't appreciate, it was being ignored by those smaller and younger than him. Baya not only ignored him, but actually pushed him around too! For a cub, he rarely smiled and his eyes had an eerie emptiness to them.

"Why do you hang around him anyway? Besides the fact that he's always ready to beat you in a fight?" Nuka asked with a look of concern and confusion at the same time.

//

Ayari sighed as he watched two lioness outside fighting over some scraps of meat. His blond mane drooped over slightly onto his muzzle. His pale blue eyes watched until he could no longer allow this senseless fighting to go on! Ayari let out a roar and the two lionesses stopped for a moment. He evenly portioned the scrap of meat and gave one to each lioness. They still growled at one another, but walked off with their piece.

Ayari let out a sigh. It really hurt him to see creatures fight over such things. One would not believe someone with so much virtue was a rogue, but that is exactly what kept him alive. He was very battle ready, but he would rarely resort to violence over reason. Justice; Ayari's most dearly held virtue. What's fair and equal should be applied, and no one deserved more than another. That was why he had to step in between these lionesses.

Ayari looked behind him and noticed Songo trotting up to him. They usually talked alot with each other, both being new addition's to Zira's pride. She was very young, and was always eager to listen to his theories on virtue and the application of the latter. He was hoping he could make her see his way, and perhaps start a movement of virtue across the land! "Well, good afternoon." Ayari said with a smile.

[Sorry for God modding. ;-;]

Vitani cackled at Nuka being swatted by her tree root and she growled at him, "Serves you right...That's because Kovu is going to be the key to all our problems. Why do you think he gets fed all the food!" she snapped back at him annoyed, "You don't do anything right..."

Vitani continued to tug on the tree root as Nuka asked about Baya, her electric blue eyes rolled. " There's nothing wrong with him. You're the dumb one." she said a bit edgy about his questions. Letting go of the branch she sent it snapping Nuka's way once more, before letting out a howl of laughter.

"One day he wont be able to beat me...i'll make sure of it. Baya is a challenge, unlike yourself." she snarled back. Her ears flattened and she looked to Nuka and quickly ran to search for Baya. There wasn't much to the out lands, termite mines and dead trees so there wasn't many places he could hide himself.

"Baya!" Vitani yelled out into the dusty air. Letting out a growl of her own she continued walking. Her ears twitched atop her head as she trotted through an old dead log, she peeked out from the log. Where is he? she wondered.

Songo stumbled upon Zira and her Pride of outlanders awhile back, but Zira has treated her as good as her own cubs. The time seemed to fly since she was the small brown cub crying starved to death under a dead tree in the out lands. Zira took her in and gave her a home, the least Songo could do was stand by her side in the fight against Simba.

She was now a young adult, her brown pelt was dark and smooth. But her two front paws were black along with the tip of her tail, it was obvious she wasn't of these lands. She looked nothing like the other females, she was a bit shorter and had a stocky build. Her power was in her paws, she wasn't a runner but more of a quick burst type of lioness. In any case, her bite was as powerful as her tongue was.

Songo's ears twitched a bit as Ayari's roar disturbed her nap, she decided to check out what was going on. Her green eyes flickered at him as he greeted her, "Afternoon Ayari, I couldn't help but hear you. Is everything okay?" she asked a bit of concern on her face. The chocolate lioness slowed down and reclined to her hinds by his side, she eyed the lionesses.

[I know. It's my fault ;)]

Nuka frowned as he watched Vitani walk off, mimicking her in a higher pitch tone. " 'Baya is a challenge unlike yourself.' Pfft. We'll see how that little termite turns out. I doubt he'll even be able to take down a little desert hare." Nuka mumbled. His eye twitched and he hollered out loud.

"STUPID TERMITES!" Nuka yelped as he began to itch all over his body.

//

Near an old dead log, Baya was sitting down and squashing termites with his medium sized paws, as per usual on such a boring day. His reception into Zira's pride was a bitter-sweet one, as some saw him as having potential while others saw him as a waste of space and food. Luckily for him, he didn't really care for their opinions. The only creature he made a true and blue connection with, was Vitani.

She was only a month or two younger than him, but she already knew the harsh realities of life and how to almost successfully pin him. Everything they "play fought" they both got a little stronger and a little faster. Zira of course, is very pleased about this and is hoping that by the time the both of them are adults they'll be able to tear throats like it was breathing. Baya didn't make so much a friendly connection to Zira, but a respectful one.

She was the one that offered to take him in, and he thought he would refuse at first, but she offered him all the things he needed to survive. Food. Shelter. Water. Training. If he was on his own out in the desert, he would simply be killed within a few days anyway. This pride also gave him a sort of purpose, one thing he had been devoid of ever since his mother died and father abandoned him.

His right ear twitched as he heard the familiar calls of Vitani. He smirked as he realized she was coming in through the log. The little rogue quickly rolled himself into a patch of dry yellow grass as camouflage. Once she came out of the log, Baya pounced on her with a little growl, pinning the slightly smaller lioness cub to the ground.

"Hah! Look at that! You just got here, and I win! You need to work on winning." Baya said with a smug grin, flipping his tuft of black mane that had started growing in not too long ago.

//

Ayari nodded, as he watched the lionesses eat in their own respective sections. "They are in the same pride. Fighting for the same cause...but they are willing to kill each other for food..." Ayari murmured quietly, a troubled look on his face. "I had to step in, and settle it for them. As if they were little cubs..." Ayari said with a sigh and looked to Songo.

"I just don't know how long this pride will last without some sort of virtue. If they are so willing to kill each other over food...then where's the trust? Where's the respect for authority? Where's the justice, or strength in numbers?" Ayari asked his ears flattening against his head. He figured he was probably bumming Songo out, so he figured he should change the subject.

"So what of you? What have you been doing?" Ayari asked with a gentle grin towards the stocky lioness.

Vitani growled in protest as she felt her back get pinned against the ground and she pushed at Baya. "Get off..." she growled rolling back over. She got to her paws and shook her pelt dusting herself off. Her blue eyes peered back at Baya narrowing thinly, she growled at him once more.

"What where you doing?" she asked stepping up beside him. Blowing air up Vitani moved her hair tuft from her eyes and she looked at Baya. She let out another growl and pounced at him, they began to wrestle around in the dirt once more. "Not this time!" she shouted trying to pin him.

Songo let out small sigh at Ayari's words and she watched the lionesses eat. "The only thing they are trying to do is survive at this point. They respect Zira because she is the only one crazy enough to lead them into battle against Simba. Some how that feeling of being in a better place with more food is keeping us all sane and to an extent." she said in a soft tone. "My dear Ayari, I dont believe these lionesses have any virtues..."

An eyebrow raised as Ayari mentioned justice, "Look around us Ayari, how did justice leave us out in these empty lands...fighting for survival. Lionesses took my mother's life and justice left me to die. Zira saved my life.." she said sternly. Her tail flickered by her side and curled around her black paws, her ears flattened and then lifted once more.

"I am alright. Just doing my rounds and checking on everything...would you like to take a walk?" she asked him softly standing to her paws. Songo often took a walk along the border between the Pride lands and the Out lands, it was interesting to see how close the two were in distance but so opposite physically.

Baya smirked as they tumbled about, tugging at each others' necks and ears. They never wanted to seriously injure one another, but the fact that they could was the beauty of play fighting. Eventually the two rolled away from each other, no clear winner in sight. Baya chuckled, a glint of amusement in his emerald eyes. "It has to be said Tani. You are getting better." Baya pointed out with a wide smirk.

"Now to answer your question, I was just hanging around here because I can't stand being in the den. Everyone stares' at me like I'm some sort of disease." Baya pointed out with a frown. As tough a demeanor he put on, he was still a young lion and he did have insecurities as other lions would. "Pfft. Let's go to the elephant graveyard. I'm bored..." Baya murmured, out of the blue.

It was not forbidden for outlanders to go to the elephant graveyard, but there was always some trouble brewing over there. Sometimes it was Hyenas, other times it was rogues. They occasionally got other meat eaters who are looking for bones to pick at for scraps. This was kind of a test to Vitani's bravery too.

//

"Justice has something in store for everyone. The more we suffer now, the more we appreciate our triumph. Those pride landers will meet their end by our righteous paws. Our cause is just, and theres is not..." Ayari muttered, sort of trying to convince himself more than Songo. When she mentioned a walk, he smiled.

"That would actually be nice. I'd rather not sit here alone with my thoughts." Ayari murmured as he looked at the lionesses again, out of the corner of his eye.

Vitani gave a victorious growl and her blue eyes look to Baya as he spoke, the small lioness rolled over to her paws. "You're pretty good Baya. One day though...I'm going to BEAT you." she said flashing a toothy grin. As she padded to keep up with Baya she shook her pelt a bit getting rid of the dust and stones, she followed close beside him.

"This place is always so dead.." she grunted softly. It didn't take them that long to enter into the grave yard, Vitani's blue eyes widened a bit at the large bones piled high. "This was the place where Scar found the hyenas, he rallied them together and took over Pride rock...but Simba killed him." she said softly climbing atop a old rib bone. She growled and lifted her paw high, "One day...I will be Queen!" she said teasingly.

Songo chuckled as they slowly walked past the termite mounds and the dead trees, water was lacking in the Out lands. "You always have thoughts going on in that mind." she said softly, her paw lifting and poking his head softly. "I think you think to much, sometimes action is needed."

As the scenery changed the grass became lush and the sun seemed to shine so much prettier in the Pride lands, Songo let out a soft sigh. " Soon enough...we wont have to fight over food. Soon enough things will change..." she muttered. Songo took a seat in the soft grass and felt a cooling breeze blow past her, she inhaled the wind. It was so peaceful by the borders and her light green eyes flickered, "Ayari...look what we have here." she whispered softly motioning to the lone warthog eating on the borders. Her ears moved back as her claws extended and she took her position low in the grass, her pads felt the moist mud as she dug her claws into the ground for stability.

Baya slowly made his way after Vitani, looking around at the many white bones of the elephants and other creatures that had died here. They were all picked clean, not even a scrap of flesh left for any creature that was passing by. He scrunched his nose as he noticed Vitani go up a pile of bones, and announce that she would be Queen.

"Pfft. Who would be your king, huh? No king would want a Queen that could beat them up." Baya said teasingly. Him and Vitani were very malicious to one another when it came to certain matters. "Only lion that would put up with that is me." Baya pointed out with a grin. With that he dropped a subtle hint to Vitani. He knew that the few months of difference in age was a bit awkward for them right now, but he had grown to admire her. He wouldn't call it love, as that was between adults, but he did grow bored without her and when they fought there was nothing Baya would like more to be pinned by her one day.

//

Ayari nodded to Songo's statement of action rather than words. Some lions and lionesses needed to die. That was not something Ayari would argue against. In the light of justice, those of ignorance and chaos scramble to the darkness or are thus eliminated. He watched a pig below and smirked at Songo.

"After you."
Ayari murmured as he pushed her with his muzzle. He too followed after Songo, hoping that she could accomplish the brutal part of the hunt while he would carry it back. Though Ayari thought it would be just to share it between the lionesses, he figured it would only cause more conflict. He planned on only sharing it with Songo, someone of emotional value to him.
