Hey guys. I think some people might be interested in how I manage MLK from the backend. This includes editing of HTML, PHP, and other goodie goodie website stuff. I'll upload pictures of my desktop when I'm deep into the editing of MLK and try to explain them.
Let's start with today's pic:
Here I am editing the Lion King Characters index page (http://www.mylionking.com/lk/characters/). I am making it a bit more modern as well as adding links to help visitors find what they're looking for more easily. (Such as "Simba Avatars" and fan art featuring Simba.) If you check it out now, or look at the attachment, you'll see that Simba and Nala are updated with the new style of how I want to display short character profiles. Below them, starting with Mufasa, is the old way of displaying the short character profiles. (This is often how I work). You can see the difference for yourself! To do this, I am using several programs which are also visible in the attachment. The most important is Adobe Dreamweaver (right in front, with the nasty looking code), which connects to the backend of MLK so I can edit the HTML and PHP files (this webpage is a working PHP file!) I got Firefox on the left to see the changes that I make. Behind them is Adobe Photoshop, which is my main image manipulation program. I also am getting into GIMP, which is on the top bar of my desktop. The bar is a free utility called ObjectDock (http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/). And, of course, there's iTunes which is playing Nightwish ^^
