The Quiet Study Zone

Postby FlipMode » July 12th, 2011, 2:59 pm

I thought it would be kind of nice-ish to have a thread to talk about School / College / Uni or work, even.
And so what kind of subjects are you guys studying, how are you finding them and what kind of grades do you have, or are hoping to get? ^^

I like English and Spanish! I get good grades. I'm kind of a critic of modern education though, for a multitude of reasons.

This is some food for thought.

I like Art and Music. I really want to play an instrument but I fail every trial I do in school, but I will never stop trying ^^. Really want to play the guitar!

That there video really is very interesting. It definitely got me thinking about how we're being educated :D

I love loads of subjects at school. Geography, foreign languages (Chinese, German, Icelandic) English and Business studies are probably my favourite. I already know exactly what I want to do for a career. (translator) I just need to keep working hard to get the grades I want :)

You take Icelandic? That's awesome! I wish my school offered languages like that.

I like English, Physical Education, Economies and Latin where I usually get good grades :3 But after the summer it'll all be different. I hate it when they change the school system <.<

Well I'm getting pretty average grades, A's and B's, maybe a C here and there at times, but for a past severe autistic like me, it's amazing improvement from what it could have been 0_o. Haven't gotten strait A's yet, but a few A's and a few B's is better than all F's like I got when I wasn't mentally stable (Geez I hated school back then. >_< Teachers didn't know squat about mental illness and the help I needed...) Love school now though, after I was cured anyway. :P Working to get a science profession, probably in Astronomy or Meteorology. xD Kudos to my mom! She's a miracle worker! :)

Well for my school, yes that's pretty average. :P But for me that's in school terms if I had to judge it based on past illness and such than that is HIGH above average for me. xD

Heh, I'm interested in Biology, Science, Arts, History, Music and... English/German, I guess. xD I really want to become either a psychologist, an archaeologist or an animal behaviour researcher. Or an English teacher, just in case I can't do either. *shrugs* My grades are average but they could be better.

Edit: Oh yeah, I also like Religion but disagree that we're only taught about Christianity, at least here. :/ I believe people should know about at least the most popular religions so they can choose which religion they believe in or choose to be atheists.
