AMV Making on Older PC

I was wondering if any of you AMV makers out there could help me with this; I've got a Dell Latitude D610 (1.86GHz, 1GB of RAM, and the standard integrated GMS 910GML graphics) and I'm trying to find some windows-based video editing software other than Windows Movie Maker to make AMV's with, that will run well on this six-year-old laptop. Any ideas? I already tried Pinnacle Studio and it didn't really work.
