Honestly? Ignore em. If you feel out of place then go where you feel comfortable. Especially since it's a place you've already been to and like.
When I graduated high school I moved to a different part of the country, away from my home, and didn't look back or think twice about it. I just kinda always knew that's what I wanted to do and I'm glad I didn't second guess myself as I can't imagine being anywhere else.
I mean don't get me wrong, I still go back about twice a year to see my dad and my new stepmom, since I love and appreciate them, but whenever I go back to my hometown I get this sense of "this is familiar to me, but boy... glad I left this sad little place - I was never all that happy here." The idea of staying in the area never much appealed to me.
Just my two cents, to be honest.
Thank you, you've literally just explained all I feel!

It's not like I don't like anything about the place I live in and I'd honestly miss it, if I left, but there's just something
there. I can't find words to explain it, but it's like a part of myself is missing. It's that whole "My house may be here, but where is my
home?" cliché.
^ Visiting a place doesn't give you too much of an idea as to how living there long term will be like at all, from experience. Just felt I needed to add that. I do find it annoying when people try to dissuade you from trying new things like that though, but in any case it's an important choice and you need to really look into it beforehand (considering moving to another country is significantly more difficult).
Yes, that is 100% true and I'm definitely aware of that. I wouldn't dare to move to anywhere, without any doing any research before.
Yet, I can't help but think that, if you feel like the place you're currently at isn't where you should stay forever, that you should just...relocate, to a place that has made you happy. I'm not saying that a visit is enough to understand
anything about X or Y location, but I would never consider moving to a country I have visited and disliked, for example. Visiting does leave an impression and, IMO, it can be a "first step to making a decision", in a way. Of course, the following steps include "research".

But thanks for the inputs, you two. It's really great to get some 'feedback'.
