My mom can't afford insurance either, again because of the greed of insurance companies after Obamacare went into place. What used to be something like 80 bucks a month is now over a hundred. My mom has a few lumps that probably need removing, but can't go do that.

I don't hate Obamacare, as we were desperate for some solution to the circular problem of too sick to look for work -> can't get medical help without job. Which was only compounded by how ludicrously hard it is to get a job nowadays. But I do so badly wish insurance companies hadn't reacted to Obamacare the way they did, crying "wahh wahh we're gonna lose money we better make severe cutbacks" because it left my mom and I, and I'm sure thousands of others, out thousands of dollars. There's way too much money in the healthcare industry in this country. For those outside the US, it's worth pointing out that healthcare costs are astronomical here. Need surgery? That's gonna be thousands of dollars. Even with insurance covering 80% of those costs, you can see why that would still cost the person a lot. 20% of $10,000 is $2,000, and surgery is often more than that. It's a bad idea to repeal Obamacare because there are many who need it, but you can see where people would be upset at it.

I just so badly wish I lived in a country where it didn't feel like it was either "screw the poor" or "screw the middle class" :(

That might've been a little too much I think. What a ridiculous night.

The thought of 'you need to make x money to live' makes me sick, personally. As if being really poor makes you deserving of death because you can't afford healthcare. Hell no. :/

I agree. Everyone is deserving of care and the fact that necessities such as healthcare and college (freaking entry-level jobs require college degrees these days) can cost a person so many thousands of dollars makes me feel like America wants everyone to go into massive amounts of debt. And in doing so, it becomes impossible to get ahead in life. This is no way to live.

Sigh...

On a positive note, is anyone planning on seeing the new Kong film coming out next year? Take a look at how amazing Kong looks:

Just how an updated '33 look should look. I have wanted Kong to look like this since I was a child, honestly, and he finally does. I feel like a kid in a candy store.

I just read Catherine's twitter account all the way back to mid-2012 - it was painful as hell yet comforting at the same time to know that they were words that at one point she had typed out.

And now I want to cry and I feel like I am except there are no tears coming out.

I still miss her. So, so much.

^ I feel that. :/

Dunno if I mentioned it but the other day I was in English class and we had to leave comments on each other's work, and the story I was reading was about a girl who lost her sister suddenly and I brought up Autumn and like... IDK, man. It's been four years now and I didn't know it still affected me so much but I like, almost started crying and had to step out for a moment.

I don't think those things ever fully leave you. But that's normal, I think. Either way - if you need to talk about it or anything, let me know. I'm always there, dude.

While I'm not familiar with who you two are talking about, you're not alone in not getting over loss. I don't think anyone completely gets over loss. You stabilize after a week or two and are able to move on, but the pain stays buried in your heart, occasionally letting itself back out. On the bright side, mourning now and then is healthy.

Hugs for both of you
