I've been in your situation before, trying hard to please someone and my problem was ignoring the issues. As for best friends, like boyfriends/girlfriend they are always harder to manage than they look. My best friend is someone I see almost every day, and by God we get sick of each other - but we're there for each other at the end of the day, and our arguments always seem to be over, petty, insignificant stuff.
Enough of me though, I know we don't really talk but you've always seemed like a cool person to talk to, and its evident a lot of people around here like and appreciate you. I haven't got any solid advice, aside from saying that Skype is where most of the action takes place. I'm going to try and revive TinyChat over the summer too which will be like another MLK chatbox, but without the rules and a chance to video/voice call for people who don't have Skype. I know that doesn't equate to you finding what you're looking for, but I'm hoping the community can get stronger, as I intend to stay.
Probably babbled a whole lot of nothing there!
