You're case is invalid considering were not talking about senseless Facebook "friends." That doesn't prove more people lie on the internet. That only proves that some people lie on the internet. 25% that do as compared to 75% that don't.

It's senseless online friends, facebook is just another medium. It's ironic you call facebook senseless, but this is totally normal.

It does make sense as it is relative to real life. And this topic is whether real friends are comparable to online friends. And the answer is no because the chance an online friend is concealing or lying about something you can not discover (because it is the internet) is much greater.

Again your argument is invalid because you imply that ever single online person is lying about their details. It doesn't matter whether or not it has a greater chance to lie or not. The fact is that online friends can be REAL friends.

I'm not implying at all. I specifically state that chances are greater.

A real friends needs to (once again because it keeps being ignored) be able to apply all senses.
Like I said: Online friends > real friends isn't socially awkward, it's socially insane.

The internet is a dangerous medium and the chances of meeting the wrong people is a gazillion times greater than in real life. The people are countless, the options are limited. Real life is the other way around.

You and I share two different definitions of real friends. You want physical all the way and I see a friend as being a friend. Matters not if I can touch them or feel them. All that matters is that I can talk to them, spend time with them, and know them.

Well, it appears we've reached an impasse here

I think you guys will have to agree to disagree ;)

What defines a 'real' friend is subjective.
