And what's a barn residency?
Oh, neat.
My backup plan involves going in an apartment with my friends and if that happens there will be five of us there also. xD And damn, so many people named Emma, wtf. That's gonna be so confusing. Lemme see it for sure when you move in though, okay? And a barn residency is a thing they do here where they let a student (or a couple students) live at each of the university barn facilities. The rent is free in exchange for 10-15 hours a week of work. I figure it's a good deal because 1) hey, free rent (!) and 2) I'm going to have to do that type of work for my major/career path anyway, so it kinda makes sense. Best to start now. Plus, it'll look good for vet school when I apply there a couple years down the line.
The application for the residency is actually surprisingly simple, though. From what I understand, not too many people go for it. It's mostly people in my major that do.
I'm aiming for the horse barn, but that one is on campus (like a block from where I live now) and close to everything, not to mention that horses are popular animals, so that one's the most competitive from what I understand. That might be difficult. My alternate options that I'm looking at are the sheep barn or perhaps the equestrian center.
