Heck, I can stand a good amount of nitpicking. We all get nitpicky about things. CinemaSins just goes a bit too overboard with it imo. And they get too many facts wrong. I can easily forgive someone for missing or forgetting an explanation or a detail here or there, but man, CinemaSins is inaccurate a bit too often.

I connect so much with this one character! That one scene especially: that's what I'm afraid of happening if we all go to the same college. I'll survive, though; I know I will.

It's all in good fun. His channel is just finding humor in each movie, even if it requires nitpicking or exageration. I'm sure he likes the movie just fine. Though I do disagree with the Nostalgia Critic on a few movies, TLK included.

Game of Thrones is awesome. The Lannisters, except Tyrion, are insufferable. I haven't hated a character like I hate Joffrey in a while lol

This is frustrating, getting the second book. I wish I could just buy it right now. Maybe that'll be the first thing I do, after I set aside the money that I need for other things: I'll buy the trilogy either from B&N or Amazon, so that I can have them when I need them. :P Hopefully it'll be worth it, and none of the sequels disappoint me.

I share the same opinion. I mean, I also see it as a "Just fun/humorous" thing. Personally, I prefer CinemaSins to Nostalgia Critic, with whom I have a "love-hate relationship" (I just don't find him as funny, at times.), but I feel like both have the same objective and utilize similar "techniques". But that's just my opinion, of course. :chuckle:

I like the Nostalgia Critic. I don't always agree with him on things, for example his issue with the end of TLK, but I can see why he would feel the way he does. I'm not a big fan of the mindset of "if you like this critic you must agree with them on everything!" I, for one, appreciate differing viewpoints.

That said, there are things I don't like about him/his show. I don't like his clipless reviews that much (couldn't get through the Fury Road one) not because they lack clips, but because I'm not huge fan of his overly-long skits. While he still does make enough points about the movie for it to be called a review, I have trouble getting through it when so much of it is over-the-top antics either re-enacting the film or barely even related to it. The skits in general I don't much care for (I don't mind it if it's short, but some of his reviews have freaking subplots) and the clipless reviews tend to be the worst offenders in that regard (though I've even stopped clip-having reviews 10 minutes before their end before, because the review was pretty much done except for wrapping up the skit plot). It's not just me, either - a good portion of the fanbase feel the same way. And it was disheartening to hear him be dismissive of such criticisms in his recent "Christmas with the Kranks" review. He basically wrote us off as being negative and disliking change, but I feel it's not really that. We just aren't big fans of his long skits. He also said that his clipless reviews get tons of hits but who's to say a lot of people aren't clicking away part way through? Plus, he reviewed 2015's two biggest movies, and was among the first reviewers to review them. It probably has less to do with people preferring his clipless reviews and more to do with people wondering if they should go see the film.

It also saddened me that Doug seemed negative about his use of memes in the past (A Chuck-a Norriiiiiiis, Big Lipped Alligator Moment, etc). I always found those pretty funny, and while I'll concede that they were repetitive, they were short. It's a lot easier to stomach a 10-second meme you find unfunny, than a 5-minute skit you find unfunny.

Despite his drawbacks, though, I still enjoy his reviews for the most part. I don't think I'd go so far as to call him a great reviewer, but he's decent and entertaining enough./endrant

I have only ever enjoyed one of his reviews (that being the one for Sharknado), the rest that I saw annoyed me to no end because he's pompous and was literally making up reasons to be an asshole about some movies. He thinks way too highly of himself and I find him far more annoying than Cinema Sins or any other "everything wrong with" thing, as those are sometimes entertaining. Nostalgia Critic just disses everything even when what he's criticizing it for doesn't exist. I've never liked him and I doubt I ever will. He's uppity and very presumptuous. I also hear he's a jerk IRL, which I obviously can't prove but have no trouble believing considering the way he acts on camera.

---

Ugh... I don't feel like responding to that right now. I have to clear out more old PMs later too, but I don't feel like doing that either. I may just turn on some MLP and just... relax for a bit, maybe then try out one of my new games, or keep playing FF9... either way...

I need to do something distracting until I either get more caffeine or stop experiencing withdrawals.

...You are aware that the Nostalgia Critic is fully a character and not a real person, right?

Doug Walker, the guy behind the reviews, is actually extremely chill and down-to-earth. As the NC character, he builds up films' flaws for comedic purposes. Being an ass and full of himself is the point of the NC's character.

Been a fan since 2009, and I've seen nearly every review, so I know my shiz.
