What was wrong with the ending? I thought it was perfectly fitting.

Spoiler time since I know some members of the forum watch but haven't seen it yet.

Spoiler: show
Starlight's motivation was extremely weak and her reformation was way too fast. She's not a kid like Diamond Tiara. Her friend moved on because of his talent? So what? She could have sent him letters or tried to visit him. Instead she starts taking things from ponies who had nothing to do with it. If her friend had turned on her, perhaps making fun of her for not getting her cutie mark, or if she had later gotten hers and they ended up competing with one another and becoming enemies, then that back story could have been good enough motivation, but literally everyone has friends who moved on while they were kids and most people don't even think much about it, if they do they don't start making others into empty shells like she did. Her motivation wasn't strong enough to back up her crime, and there's no way, as firm in her hatred of Twilight as she is, that she'd have turned it all around as quickly as she did. Maybe she could have been convinced not to toy with the past for her own good, but it doesn't fit her character at all to spontaneously be friendly with the mane 6 just because of what Twilight, the pony she hates most, says. I'm sorry but to me it looks like the writers didn't even try to give her the kind of motive she deserved, and after this amazing season, it really made the ending fall short, imo.

Think of it this way. How often are kids' feelings ever rational? Some of history's greatest monsters were caused by irrational trauma from childhood (sometimes legitimate trauma but it can really depend). People often have a difficult time remembering if that trauma from their childhood was rational or not because, well, they were kids. Their minds aren't fully developed yet. I've seen many kids get bitter over the STUPIDEST things for a long time if not forever. It happens.

Spoiler: show
I somewhat agree on the ending, at least on the speed of it, but I think her emotional baggage simply exploded when Twilight talked to her like a friend. It was pretty obvious that she didn't want to be villainous in the first place, but it was the only option she thought she had.

At least, unlike Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer had reasons behind her evil before being redeemed. I thought they were good reasons, as I explained. The original Equestria Girls' ending I have the same opinion as you on this episode's ending.

You can usually get those waived. The school I'm at wanted me to get some vaccinations, and I was not sure if they were ones I had received already as a young child. Just to be safe, I sent in a letter signed by a doctor briefly detailing my brother's allergic reaction/disability and how that made me concerned if I should receive them (ie, a medical waiver).

Personally, I don't even know if you need that much though. From what they told me it wasn't a big deal at all. Most of your peers (assuming they are healthy and reasonably able) will likely have the vaccines they need already, so the chance of that particular disease spreading is probably pretty low.

In any case, I wouldn't let something small like a waiver get in the way of your future goals. Your school and life is way more important. :kionsmile:

Yeah, well, it's more of the fact that, to finish the program, I have to do the externship thing, and the instructor was saying that if I didn't have the vaccinations, she doesn't think she can find a place for me to do so. (In case I didn't mention it before, I was going to do the Medical Assistant program, hence the whole vaccination process). So that's the problem.

@UltraFox
Spoiler: show
That would all make sense if she was just targeting the one who did it to her. The crime she committed though was large scale, was *very* evil and villainous, and hurt lots of innocent ponies. Losing a friend sucks, and kids can be very irrational, but that's not enough motivation to do what she did, especially when she probably could have kept the friend if she'd tried. As close as they supposedly were I can't see him turning her away if she visited or sent letters. If it's good enough for you, great, you don't have to be disappointed by the ending then.

And I agree about Sunset's reformation too, but at least afterwards people were wary of her. If that doesn't happen for Starlight, this will be even weaker, especially if she were to become a "mane seventh" like people are talking about. I personally would like to see an episode at her village (where I suspect she'll stay) in which she's struggling to overcome her nasty reputation. If she goes through development like Discord has done, I'll have less issue with it, and for that matter I don't hate it or anything now. I just felt the awesome season and awesome episode deserved a much much more epic resolution.

@KD

Yeah, hopefully they continue to develop things in Season 6. I can totally see your point-of-view. It's not that hard to grasp. Those things I just found less bothersome, personally. Some MLP fans LOVE the Season 3 finale, and I really didn't like it hardly at all. (I know you liked the S5 finale other than the ending, but just giving an example). I'm not blind to the show's flaws.

I will be disappointed somewhat if
Spoiler: show
Starlight Glimmer has no issues to deal with after her evil deeds. However, I will like if she becomes the Mane 7th, though, since the show could use a change to the status quo when it comes to main characters after 5 seasons.

Okay, Dad. What do you want me to do? I told you the situation, but you didn't say a single word. Not even any suggestions. I can't figure this out on my own! Please help me!

Maybe I should email her back and maybe ask her if she can actually find a medical facility that won't require me getting vaccinations. But I don't want to take up her time. I'm sure she has enough on her plate as it is.... I don't know what to do. I really don't. :down:

^ If you need information, then yes, email her. Most people don't mind that much. What you want to do is important, trust me. I had to give up what I wanted to do and I've regretted it; so if that's what you wanna do, you do what you need to in order to get it and don't give up unless you have to.
