Thanks, but I don't think it matters. I was going to trash everything I'd already written, to re-do it. It's just that I've recently realized exactly how little point there is.Ninaroja wrote:^ Did you ever post them to fictionpress? I've heard that if it's posted online somewhere, it can't be published. I'm not going to risk that.
Julie, you can't give up! Writing is such a beautiful art. Everyone has stories to tell and if you stick at it and perfect your works (so don't trash everything, keep it) to the standard that you, and only you, think is acceptable, it will feel so rewarding.
As an aspiring author myself, I know what it feels like. Your sitting there, pouring everything you've got into it and you suddenly think 'what if people think this is a load of bull'. It really puts you off. I think everyday that I won't be published. But I can't give up. Writing is the only thing I have.
Keep on going, for the sake of all us aspiring authors out there. I know it's so hard.
Also, I think you can post things online. There is an author who lives near me who wrote a book on WattPad and because it gained so much popularity, she got published. She's published several books now! I do think she had to remove them afterward though, but people still saw it beforehand.
I'm not much use in this situation
