Now that I look back on it, what made AC2 so intriguing was to see Ezio's character development from beginning to end. He kinda grew on me for that reason... to see him go from being young, brash, and wanting revenge to being a wise and respectable old man at the end of his adventures. It leaves a certain feeling that no other game has managed to replicate, to my knowledge.
Except for AC4. I didn't get to see much of that with Connor, but with Edward... damn. Edward actually reminds me a lot of Ezio, now that I think about it. He initially set about on the wrong path, but he found his way in the end.

i mean AC3 was good and all story wise, but the character development was pretty lame compared to edward's and ezio's storylines >> even with his background and stuff and the parts of the game playing him as a kid, idk it just didn't do it for me like ezio and edward lol
