Captain Cupcake wrote:Ah, Star Wars games. One of the few series of licensed titles that isn't entirely abysmal and does justice to the films' universe. So many classics were popped out over the years. The SNES trilogy, the Jedi Knight series, Battlefront, and the KOTR games(yes, while unfinished and rushed, even II still has some merit to it).
In my opinion, the Star Wars games were better than the movies. To me, the movies feel more like advertisements for the games, rather than anything else. Even the prequels are all better than most movies are, but something about watching them just makes me want to delve deeper into the universe.
There's never a dull moment in Return of the Jedi, for example. It's a great movie, but what makes it as special as it is is that it has some of the most epic battle scenes of any movie ever. I can't watch it without wishing I was an X-wing pilot for the rest of the day. Then... the next thing I know, I'm shaking my fist at Lucasarts for not making a reboot of that franchise. I want a proper Star Wars space combat simulator just as much as anything in the world.
I don't want to watch it. I want to
be there. The Star Wars universe is so vast and interesting, and I want to explore every nook and cranny of it. The Jedi Knight games, KotOR games, and Battlefront games all gave that in a way that the movies never could.
Speaking of KOTR,
how long till the next chapter of your Mohatu fic is done, Reg? I've become a bit of an avid reader of that.
I'm about halfway done with chapter 41. I have A LOT of work to do for school, which is why I'm on here procrastinating. But considering, I may not get to finish the chapter for another week or two.

Every thing works beautifully, no lag, and with my ps3 controller, too, so it doesn't matter that I'm unable to use keyboard and mouse. And I only have Intel HD 4000 for graphics.

Yeah, with lower detail settings. That basically reduces everything to PS3 or 360 quality.

There's no way you could max out a game like Crysis, Far Cry 3, or Tomb Raider, though. My desktop struggles to run any of those with full settings at 1920x1080. But it looks like that:

I can run AC4 almost maxed out, but I turn shadow detail down, the ambient occlusion off, and run it with only FXAA. I won't even buy Watch Dogs because I know it'll run like total crap on my PC.
All of this would fry my poor lappy.
I didn't play Battlefront much
You're a disgrace to humanity.
