So I took the Pavilion DV6 apart and found the cause of the overheating: There was a pair of dragonfly wings stuck inside the main exhaust.

Well, while I'm at this stage, I might as well take the cooling system apart and reapply thermal compound.

Next thing I know I'll find an ant colony eating out the silicon in the processors.

OK, so I've re-assembled the computer, and I have 3 screws left over.

The thing POSTs successfully, but has a messed-up screen output and the Windoze install is bricked.

On the other hand, the CPU remains cool as a cucumber.

Hooray for optimism.

Hm...Should I go back to sleep or continue reading fanfics? I hate it when I feel awake enough to do anything in the mornings, but then by the time bedtime comes around, I'm usually pretty tired, especially on Fridays.....Yeah. I'm staying up. I don't care. I don't have to think really hard today.
