^ To see the waves apparently. Heard that loads of people went to Swansea to see the waves and it became so dangerous that they had to get the Police involved to escort people away.

Yeahhhhh... Because when there are huge waves that could swallow you whole and drag you out to sea, clearly the most sensible thing is to stand directly in front of them and watch them.
