Not only does my sister get involved in all sorts of social drama and shenanigans and whatnot (which I cleverly avoid because I just don't care), but I think she's actually a catalyst for it.
Ever since my sister was three years old, she has always had a knack for making people jealous of her. She's in high school now, and even to this day, she's never had a single friend who hasn't said at least a few mean things to her, intentionally. Heck, I'm not just talking about mean things, I'm talking about completely hateful things.
Not only have I just now realized this pattern, but I think I may have figured out why. Six-year-old Regulus may have been right. My sister is very good at making people jealous. She's too intelligent for her own good, and she's too outgoing to keep it to herself. She puts herself out there as being the know-it-all, like my dad does, and it backfires.
Jeez, sometimes I worry about my own future, being as shy as I am, but at least I don't have to deal with those kind of problems. I could totally see her ending up in an unhealthy relationship one day, simply because she rubs people the wrong way. She's already had more than her fair share of that, with the guys she's been hanging around. Unless the pattern ends here, that's probably what's going to happen later on in her life.
Although, now I have to consider it: is this what I do, too?
