Can we say why we might be good for the position? I mean, I'd quite like to be a mod :P
I know LOTS of fan-art, so I can easily spot a theft, I'm on here /most/ of the day, even though I don't post much, I rarely take sides in arguments but rather try to calm things down *coughKopacough*

If not, it's cool (I have no votes anyways XD) :) No hard feelings in the slightest!

Ok time I had a my say :P

First off I will address the FAA issue. Moka is currently redesigning it, IDK is that causes problems but it might. Also when work is flagged there the mods do not get a notification on the main forum only on the FAA. I will ask Moka to fix that as it would be so much help for an extra direction. Also on the flagging of art incase a mod he doesnt know the art world (waves paw) sees the flag, do make sure you clear as what the issue is and provide links or names it would help so much

Now to the issue of choosing a mod and my take on it

Be willing - As said at the start it is a bug undertaking that might have you on for months or years. We DO NOT want people who will just pack up and leave after a month or just sit on their backsides twiddling thumbs

Bigger aint better - Just because you have the biggest post count or have 2 stars under your name does not mean you will get mod. There are alot of people out there who havnt even been here a year that could actually do the job alot better than older members. Harsh but true

Active - This is a defiante. 1 or 2 hours was mentioned but in all honesty I think you need to at least double that. Even if its a case as you jsut have MLK open and refresh once in while and quickly check areas it helps (thats how ive dealt with alot of issues)

Dont be a hot head - Never run into situations with anger EVER. If you have a bad temper even on the forums, I suggest you dont become a mod as you can cause way more harm than good. Some of the older members here will tell you that I once raged out and it wasnt pretty I almost lost being mod and banned for it. So from personal experience no hot heads

Open minded - You got to be willing to listen to EVERYONE not just your own mind and the other mods. Members do sometimes have good ideas or they say something that sparks your own ideas off. Heck how do you think I made MLK radio :P

Equal play - Very important. You treat every member as you would another ie do not let your friends off for a bad thing. I does not matter if they have been your friend since 5 years old if they are breaking the rules deal with it accordingly. But deal with each member accordingly for example 2 spammers one posts porn the other just swears a little ban the porn guy but just warn the swearer

Friendly - oh god please be someone friendly and happy and laugh at jokes. It is so hard to work with someone with no emotions that cant take a joke or anything. Come to the forum with a smile and get stuff sorted out the way then you can enjoy yourself even more =^.^=

Thats it for the major things. As a small personal item, it would be great if the new mod could actually help me with the Awards and if somehow able even help run the radio. Busy kitty is busy and having someone else to help would be awesome ^^

But enough on that I've given my 2 cents worth so there ya go! :P

@KK: All good criteria :)

@Annie: I don't see why not. I'm personally not going to make a post all about myself because something's telling me I shouldn't but everyone else is welcome to.

I agree with Snowy, I think that others should make their decision about you. Some are better than others at orating and not everyone can make a good representation of who they are via post. It's not as if I can do anything about it, but it just seems rather superfluous to me.

Yeah I agree with Snow. Making a post about yourself saying why you should be mod and why you'd do a good job seems a little self centered, and a little bit like a cry for attention. If someone wants you to be mod, let them nominate/vote for you out of their own free will. Not because you tried to convince them.

I did it, because I feel not many know me here and I think I'd be good at the job. I've been to enough job interviews to know you have to be self centred to get it :)

Annie you are more well known than you think. Don't worry about it. If you're meant to be mod it'll happen out of it's own accord.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what Annie said. She's right; I didn't even think of her when I was nominating but now I'd say she's the best person for the job (in my opinion of course!). ^^

KK's absolutely right on pretty much all accounts. One thing he omitted that I also find important: a staff member should absolutely be considerate to others--in other words, making fun of someone repeatedly, having it out for a specific member because of a certain bias... that's no good. I'm all for good-natured fun, but putting someone down time after time is ridiculous, and it reflects back on the entire staff if one bad apple isn't considerate, both on and off the forum--especially on the forum, but also off the forum if they're caught. Just a thought.
