The only thing I'm optimistic about in 2017 is Ryzen. Oh, that and graduating... but mostly Ryzen.

Thanks Si and Carl <3 I appreciate it. Just work getting me down, alot. Not just the customers, my managers and workmates too. I actually feel like looking for another job right now as I feel I go above and beyond what is expected of me and I get zero thanks or any sort of recognition, yet others who do nothing get praised for silly little things. I feel invisible half the time.

The problem is that when you're consistently working that hard, it becomes expected of you, not an exception. You'll find that you will have that problem almost anywhere you work. But y'know what you get is something better because you're the kind of employee who will be remembered after they leave with an amazing reference to go and purse their dreams with, you're the employee who everyone else will have to work twice as hard when you leave to fill the gap from just one person. And you're the one who will ultimately end up happier in your career, even if it doesn't seem like it right now.
I mean don't you feel a little bit awesome knowing that when they do something simple they get praised up for working even half as well as you do? If you think about it, you're setting a standard and they are getting praised for sometimes keeping up with that standard.
I had an employee like that a short while ago.
So it's nothing personal against you and every thing to do with encouraging other employees to be at that same level.

Extremely inferior. Who would want to step down from a high class life for me?

I don't know. Just kind of there, floating by, barely good enough. :/ Just par for the course for me.

Like honestly. I'm wondering how I got a B+ in Creative Writing. That's literally the only thing in life that I'm even remotely good at, I did all the work, and it still wasn't enough.

I just don't understand. :outcold:

@Twin Seriously, talk to me when you feel up to it. I know what that's like. Last winter I made bad grades in courses I should have pwned with ease. It's not a reflection of your capabilities, it's a reflection of the fact that you haven't been able to focus properly. When your mental state isn't the best, your performance suffers. It's normal, and you can't beat yourself up over it cos that'll only make things worse.

@Kay My job was like that for a while, and while I do agree with what Flip said, I also feel like adding that I started getting snapped at and such when I was going slower due to being sick—I got fed up of it and deliberately slowed myself down all the time. I'm now working with less than half my ass every day and the sad thing is I'm still two or three times as country fresh (by which I mean productive) as about half of my coworkers. Of course I also partly slowed down because two of my coworkers literally spend about half of their shift every shift just standing around doing nothing or sitting in the break room. They also complain about another coworker of ours who actually does her job because sometimes when it's slow she'll get out her phone.

And finally... I'm feeling tired. Lol.

just read a particularly vile account of transphobia and feeling suddenly overwhelmed with fear @ the world and love for other trans people......being closeted it's easy to forget the danger I could be in one day and it makes me want to keep hiding for the rest of my life

other than that tho I had an extremely soothing walk home involving light snow and campfire scent, so trying to get back to the invigorating feeling it created (~:

^ It sure is a crazy and worrying world we live in, that's for sure. :/

I'm feeling tired. I didn't mean to be up this late, but I didn't expect to settle in for a 2 hour movie at 10pm either, so this is what I get for impulsively watching things lol. :nehneh:
