Like I said, we're high-ranked academically, but then it's contaminated with the 'preps', if you get what I mean, so that kinda ruins it. Plus European schools seem to place more emphasis on learning and education. Here it's like incredibly boring unless you take math courses two or three years above your grade level and sign up for a ton of advanced/honors/college-level courses. And even then, it feels lacking sometimes. It's like impossible not to graduate high school, people act like it's such an achievement and frankly I don't get it. I just wanna get out. lol But yeah, I feel like people in America have no clue sometimes. I swear half of them have no ambition beyond having a normal boring family or working some boring desk job. Especially the people I go to school with. You talk about anything related to science or art and it's like their eyes glaze over. So why bother talking to them? If it's not new shoes or make-up or a boyfriend or football they're probably not even interested.
