Kind of this, although I think it's just one of those evenings more than actual depression.
Weird because I've actually had a pretty good day out with my sister but for some reason in the past couple of hours my mood has suddenly really gone south. Think I'll play a game for a bit and take my mind off stuff.

Slightly on edge. Seriously, brain. Put thoughts down. Write this essay. You have one day to write six pages. How did you let this happen to you?

At least I have my shift tonight and I can work on it then. Hopefully front desk isn't too busy today. :ocwap:

Maybe. I do like sharing life with other people. But I'm just picky about who I give my time to, some don't even deserve to be told the time of day much less a relationship with me.

Long term, I don't think staying single is a good idea. Humans are social creatures, and relationships make people happy.

Whether anyone admits it, or even realizes it, the largest contributing factor to any person's happiness is the quality of the relationships they have. I'm not denying that it's possible to be alone and happy, but what I am saying is that being in a relationship and happy is even better.

Of course, things become complicated because societal convention dictates that all people need to be shoved into the categories of "single" or "in a relationship," which isn't how things really are. It's not what I really mean, either. Not all relationships are happy and healthy ones. Not all people who are single are lonely, unloved, and living alone. My relationship status hasn't technically changed one bit over the past three years, but I can tell you that I've become significantly more happy since 2013. It's not about whether or not I'm in a relationship, but whether or not I feel like I mean something to the people I interact with on a daily basis.

I had friends and I interacted with people on some occasions, but I used to feel as neglected as the nine button on a microwave. It made me depressed. Things are somewhat similar, but extremely different now. I'm still single, yes... but I don't feel like that anymore. I still want a long-lasting relationship in the future, and I still have bad days on some occasions, but on a normal day I'm content being myself. I have people I share my life with, and I know those people care about me. So yeah, I'm happy.

Relationships are great, but that's only true if it's a relationship with someone who offers you happiness. Otherwise, you're taking one step forward only to fall ten steps back.
