no, sadness is NOT depression.
depression is a lack of "chemics" in the brain that make you feel sad, tired and you don't want to do anything. You have depression when these feelings are taking over for a longer time.

Sadness is just an emotion, that can last from a few hours to a few days.

The boys at school used to tease and bully me a lot in elementary and junior high. Mainly because of the way I look.

Thankfully, they had stopped by the time we started high school. It never got serious, they never beat me or anything, but rude and disgusting comments can hurt just as bad as any physical blow.

Now I am 23, and I have learned that not all boys are mean, far from it. But children can be incredibly cruel.. A few months ago, this kid rode by me on a bike, yelling "fatso!" as he passed me.
